“The introduction of the all-new Proton X50 has given the entire range an attention boost and PROTON intends to keep the upward momentum going with more new model introductions and a technology showcase at the Global Automotive and Technology Expo (GATE) 2025 in the last 5 months of the year,” said Zhang Qiang, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Proton Edar. Proton X50_Dashboard_Centre Console_Sunroof

Exports and EV Sales on the Rise
Proton’s export sales have reached 2,258 units YTD, 44.1% higher than in 2024, with the X50 overtaking the Saga as the most popular export model. The Proton e.MAS 7 EV continued its strong momentum, with 706 units sold in July (including exports), bringing its YTD total to 4,959 units and making it Malaysia’s best-selling EV.

“The success of the Proton e.MAS 7 has exceeded expectations and proves the product as well as the  company’s strategy to focus on brand building, charging infrastructure and the opening are correct for Malaysian EV buyers. With the upcoming Proton e.MAS 5 adding a second EV model to our portfolio and growing interest from overseas markets, the expectation is for EV and export sales to grow their contribution to overall sales numbers over the coming months and years,” added Zhang. Proton_e-Mas 7_Charging
