Isuzu D-Max Achieves Strong Mid-Year 2025 Sales; 1.9L Models Drive Growth
Isuzu Malaysia has strengthened its position as the second most popular pick-up truck brand in Malaysia, reporting strong sales for the first half of 2025. The company sold 3,081 units of the Isuzu D-Max in the first 6 months of the year, achieving a market share of 16% and reaffirming the model’s appeal to a broad range of customers.
This performance builds on a record-setting first quarter, with demand continuing to be driven by the brand’s highly fuel-efficient and reliable 1.9L variants. More than 85.8% of D-Max sales during this period were attributed to these models, which have resonated with both long-time pick-up users and new buyers transitioning from passenger vehicles.
Among the standout performers was the 1.9L 4×4 Auto Premium variant, which accounted for 18.6% of overall sales. Well-regarded for its balance of capability, comfort, and advanced safety features, the variant has also earned a place in the Malaysian Book of Records for the longest distance travelled on a single tank of fuel—further proof of its real-world efficiency.
“The results achieved this year reaffirms the trend we have observed since last year when pick-up truck enthusiasts and passenger car converts alike have discovered the benefits of owning and driving these highly capable Isuzu D-Max trucks. We hope to continue appealing our product benefits in the second half of the year while ensuring positive experiences for our customers,” said Tomoyuki Yamaguchi, CEO of Isuzu Malaysia.

Looking Ahead: Immersive Experiences And Outreach
