JETOUR Begins Local Assembly Operations In Johor For ASEAN Expansion

JETOUR Auto Malaysia has officially commenced local assembly of its SUV models, the JETOUR Dashing and VT9, at the Berjaya Assembly Sdn Bhd (B-Assembly) plant in Tampoi, Johor Bahru. This development marks a key milestone for the brand as it deepens its commitment to the Malaysian market while positioning the country as a regional manufacturing hub.

The assembly operation is based at B-Assembly’s 640,000 sq. ft. facility, supported by over 100 employees. In addition to meeting local demand, the initiative sets the stage for wider export plans across Southeast Asia, aligning with Malaysia’s goal to boost localisation and strengthen its automotive ecosystem. Berjaya Assembly_Jetour

“This important milestone reflects our strong confidence in Malaysia as a strategic market for JETOUR. The local assembly of the Dashing and VT9 is not only a production advancement, but also a significant investment in talent, innovation, and the future potential of mobility in the region,” said Mr. Wen Qiangkang, Vice President of JETOUR International.

“With the full launch of local production, we are proud to deliver high-quality vehicles assembled in Malaysia, reflecting our continued commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction. This collaboration with B-Assembly also lays a solid foundation for our broader expansion across the ASEAN region,” added Mr. Fu Yong, Chief Executive Officer of JETOUR Malaysia.

Building Malaysia’s Role As A Regional Manufacturing Base

JETOUR’s collaboration with B-Assembly, a wholly owned subsidiary of Berjaya Assets Berhad, leverages the latter’s Industry 4.0-ready capabilities to deliver advanced production standards, improved efficiency, and sustainable practices. The assembly of the JETOUR Dashing began in June 2025, with VT9 production ramping up shortly after. To-date, the plant has produced over 1,000 units for the domestic market.  Jetour Dashing

“We are proud to be the local assembly partner for JETOUR in Malaysia. This collaboration reflects our shared belief in the future of Malaysia’s automotive sector and our commitment to contributing to the nation’s industrial development,” said Dato’ Tony Khor, Advisor of B-Assembly.

The JETOUR Dashing is aimed at urban drivers, featuring a sleek fastback silhouette and smart tech features, while the larger VT9 caters to families with its 7-seater configuration and spacious cabin. Both models are now being produced locally as part of the company’s strategy to improve delivery times and offer better value to Malaysian customers.

RM1.4 Billion Investment For Localisation And Export Growth

JETOUR Auto Malaysia has already established a nationwide network of over 20 outlets since its market debut earlier this year. With local production now underway, the brand aims to further accelerate its growth with plans to invest approximately RM1.4 billion in Malaysia. This investment will support the rollout of additional locally assembled models and open new export opportunities within ASEAN.
