2025 Proton X50 Officially Launched In Malaysia; Priced From RM85,800 With GEMPAK! Deal

PROTON has officially launched the 2025 Proton X50, the latest generation of Malaysia’s best-selling B-segment SUV. This new model enters the market with prices starting from RM85,800 after factoring in early booking incentives.

Since its introduction in 2020, the Proton X50 has reshaped expectations for B-segment SUVs, amassing over 140,000 units sold and holding the title of Malaysia’s top-selling SUV in its class for 5 consecutive years.

Developed in collaboration with Geely, the X50 is also a global nameplate with over 1.2 million units sold across 51 countries. For the Malaysian market, PROTON’s latest update brings enhancements across design, performance, safety, and connectivity to cater to modern urban lifestyles.

Offered in 3 variants—Executive, Premium, and Flagship—the 2025 Proton X50 is powered by a new 1.5TD i-GT 4-cylinder turbo engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The powertrain produces 181 PS (179 hp) and 290 Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0–100 km/h in 7.6 seconds, while also delivering a 4.7% improvement in fuel efficiency compared to its 3-cylinder turbocharged predecessor. 

New highlights include updated exterior styling, Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), and a significantly larger 14.6″ infotainment display. A standout feature of the new model is the debut of the Bahasa Melayu voice recognition system, offering more intuitive control for local users.

Every purchase of the 2025 Proton X50 includes a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty and 6 free labour services. Buyers will also receive an upgraded 5-year data package with 2GB/month of connectivity.

Furthermore, those who book and register their vehicles by 31 October 2025 (the first 10,000) will enjoy additional benefits under the Exclusive GEMPAK! Deal, which includes a RM4,000 rebate, special financing rates from participating banks, and up to RM2,000 trade-in support.
