GoCar and drivEV Drive Sustainable Mobility
In conjunction with World Environment Month, GoCar Mobility and Yinson GreenTech’s EV leasing arm, drivEV, powered the recent KL Car-Free Morning with a strong message: sustainable mobility is here, and it’s accessible. Last weekend, the joint campaign themed “Living the Green Way” championed the link between sustainable lifestyles, clean driving, and smarter cities, coinciding with GoCar’s 10th anniversary.
The event marked a major milestone for GoCar, which started in 2015 with a modest fleet and has since grown into a leading mobility services platform offering car sharing, subscription plans, and electric vehicle (EV) options through its GoEV programme. KL Car-Free Morning served as an ideal platform for the company to reaffirm its commitment to electrified mobility while raising awareness to promote EV adoption in Malaysia. 
The GoCar x drivEV showcase in the KL City Centre zone, featured an EV line-up including the ORA Good Cat and AION Y Plus, along with a host of interactive activities to engage the public. The public were able to explore the vehicles, sign up with the GoCar app, and participate in games such as the Wheel of Fortune and EV quizzes to win GoCar merchandise. A bottle-recycling station, juice bar, and photo wall were included in the experience, in line with the campaign’s focus on sustainability and community.
To encourage wider EV adoption, GoCar introduced a special promotion offering 50% off (capped at RM80) on all EV bookings with the promo code ‘JOMEVKL’, valid from 22 June to 22 July 2025. Bookings made under this offer can be used through 30 September 2025. GoCar currently offers a wide range of EV models for hourly or daily rental, including the AION Y Plus, GWM ORA Good Cat, Nissan Leaf, and Renault Zoe.
