Maxim Malaysia Files Appeal To APAD; Affirms Commitment To Continue E-Hailing Services

Maxim Malaysia officially filed an appeal with the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD), reaffirming its commitment to continue operations in Malaysia’s competitive e-hailing landscape. This was shared at a media briefing on 10 June, where the company confirmed the submission of all required documentation to the agency.

“I would like to confirm the fact that Maxim delivered full commitment to the situation that happened, by following the instructions and submitting all documents. We got documents from the company and now are ready to review the case in the near future. A competitive market is the key to fair and optimal e-hailing operation in the digital sphere, so we hope that the company can continue to develop the Malaysian e-hailing market as other platforms. Keeping balance in all of the spheres is the key to a successful development of a fair and stable digital economy,” commented Puan Masita Binti Mat Isa, Deputy Director General of APAD.

Focus On Legal Drivers And Safety

Maxim Malaysia stressed that its platform is strictly for legal, PSV-certified drivers, and that it is committed to facilitating the licensing process. This includes close collaboration with over 25 driving schools nationwide.

“We help candidates to become legal drivers, by getting PSV (Public Service Vehicle) and EVP (E-Hailing Vehicle Permit). Moreover, the company collaborates with over 25 driving schools to streamline the legalisation process. We are now ready to provide more drivers for driving schools, so we are always willing to partner with new organisations to speed up the legalisation process and give more people the opportunity to earn money for their families and needs. In the future we would like to increase their number and get new quotas to make them legal with a special system of compensation bonuses and assistance from the Maxim team,” said Chowdhury Mushfique Ahmed, Maxim’s Head of Legal and Government Relations.

Maxim’s mobile apps include an in-app chat and trip tracking features, both of which are designed to boost safety and give passengers peace of mind during their journeys. Maxim_Malaysia

Contributing To Urban Mobility And Employment

Maxim emphasised its role in enhancing urban mobility and job creation throughout Malaysia, particularly in underserved regions. The company highlighted that over half of its drivers rely on the platform as a primary source of income.

“Thousands of drivers uses the Maxim app as a way to earn extra money to enhance their family’s total income. It creates the situation when drivers get good income and passengers and other clients with affordable transportation services that can be used for daily needs,” said Musley Mohd Hazwan, Director of Maxim Malaysia. Maxim_Malaysia_E-hailing Service

Social Impact And Inclusive Services

As part of its social responsibility initiatives, Maxim has supported disaster relief efforts, public hospitals, schools, and orphanages across various regions. The company also demonstrates its commitment to inclusivity by implementing a special fare scheme for people with disabilities (OKU), running public awareness campaigns, and offering free rides to disabled communities.

Maxim’s website is also adapted for the visually impaired, ensuring broader access to its services. The company also stated that it plans to continue to invest in the development of local IT infrastructure. Its apps – the Maxim app for customers and the Taxsee Driver app for drivers – are available across major platforms including Google Play, App Store, Huawei AppGallery, Oppo App Market, Vivo App Store, GetApps, and Galaxy Store.

Maxim’s scalable platform also allows for unlimited customer registrations and the ability to process millions of orders, supporting its growing user base while aiming to keep transportation accessible, affordable, and safe for all Malaysians.
