GAC Motor Introduces Landmark PHEV MPV & Next-Gen EVs At Malaysia Autoshow 2025
At the Malaysia Autoshow 2025, GAC Motor, and its electric sub-brand AION, introduced a striking lineup that blends electrification, innovation, and luxury. Headlining the brand’s showcase is the GAC M8, Malaysia’s first flagship plug-in hybrid MPV, which is now officially open for booking.
The showcase also includes the HYPTEC HT, presented in both gull-wing and standard door variants ahead of its Q3 2025 launch, as well as the first Malaysian appearance of the AION V electric SUV. Additionally, GAC’s locally assembled GS3 EMZOOM crossover is celebrating its first anniversary and now comes with an attractive limited-time offer from official distributor, WTC Automotive (WTCA).
GAC M8 PHEV
The star of the show is the GAC M8 which marks its official entry as Malaysia’s first flagship plug-in hybrid MPV. Designed for discerning families and business professionals, the M8 redefines the premium MPV space by offering a seamless blend of premium refinement, eco-conscious hybrid technology, and advanced safety.
With a combined driving range of up to 1,038 km on a full tank and charge, the M8 alleviates range anxiety while offering comfort and performance in equal measure. Key highlights include:

The GAC M8 is now open for booking and is expected to be priced from RM333,000, with complete specifications to be revealed closer to launch. Every purchase includes a 5-year (or 150,000 km) warranty for the vehicle and an 8-year (150,000 km) warranty for the battery, motor, and EV components. Early bookers will also receive 2 years worth of free scheduled maintenance and a portable charging cable, a package valued at RM3,800.

HYPTEC HT
Also on display is the stricking HYPTEC HT, shown in both gull-wing and standard door variants. Already a sensation in Thailand, the HT is now gearing up for its Malaysian launch. Earlier this year in Thailand, it was the best-selling BEV 2 months in a row.
With a projected range of up to 620 km (NEDC) and 280 kW DC fast charging, the HYPTEC HT combines futuristic design with practical daily usability. Its cutting-edge magazine battery ensures superior fire safety and structural stability, making it ideal for both city drives and long-haul trips.
AION V
Fresh from international acclaim at the Paris Motor Show, the AION V is also at the Malaysia Autoshow. With a design inspired by the muscular stance of a Tyrannosaurus Rex, the AION V sports a bold, futuristic exterior paired with performance that delivers.
Powered by a 100 kW motor generating 240 Nm of torque, it accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. A range of up to 602 km (NEDC) ensures it competes solidly in the long-range EV SUV space. Interior details remain under wraps, but anticipation is building for its local launch.
1st Anniversary Offer for GS3 EMZOOM
Rounding out the showcase, the GS3 EMZOOM is celebrating its first anniversary in Malaysia with an “Anniversary Mega Offer”. With monthly instalments starting from just RM990, this promotion makes the stylish and sporty crossover more accessible than ever.
The GAC GS3 EMZOOM is powered by a 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that produces 177 PS (175 hp) @ 5,500 rpm and 270 Nm of torque @ 1,400 – 4,500 rpm, paired with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. Performance-wise, the front-wheel-drive GS3 Emzoom from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.0 seconds while achieving a claimed average fuel consumption of 5.9 litres per 100 km.
