MG S5 EV At Malaysia Autoshow 2025 – Open For Booking With Early Bird Deals Worth 10x The RM500 Fee

MG Motor Malaysia has opened bookings at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025 for its soon-to-be-launched MG S5 EV, the brand’s new B-segment all-electric SUV. Those who book now will enjoy an early bird package that offers up to 10 times the value of the RM500 booking fee.

The MG S5 EV, which has an estimated starting price of RM115,000, is now available for preview and test drives at MG’s booth in MAEPS Serdang (Hall A02). Two variants are offered i.e. COM and LUX, with the choice of 49 kWh or 62 kWh battery packs. MG Motors_Malaysia Autoshow 2025_MG S5

Early Bird Incentives
Customers who book during the Malaysia Autoshow from 9–15 May 2025 will enjoy significant early bird perks. These include exclusive savings ahead of the final price reveal and a free 7kW Wallbox AC charger (installation not included).

Dual Battery Options, Rear-Wheel Drive Thrills

The MG S5 EV COM variant is available with either a 49 kWh battery offering up to 340 km of range or a 62 kWh pack good for up to 430 km (WLTP). The LUX variant comes standard with the 62 kWh battery and features additional tech and luxury appointments.

Both variants deliver 170 PS and 250 Nm of torque via a rare-in-segment Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) layout, setting the MG S5 EV apart from the standard front-wheel drive competitors.

The LUX also supports 150 kW DC fast charging, taking just 26 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%. Additional LUX upgrades include:

  • 18″ alloy wheels

  • Panoramic sunroof

  • Heated leather steering wheel

  • Power-adjustable driver’s seat

  • Wireless phone charger

  • 360-degree surround view camera

  • Six premium speakers

  • Powered tailgate

Smart, Spacious & Future-Ready
Technology is a key highlight across both variants, with a 12.8″ touchscreen, 10.25″ digital cluster, MG’s iSMART connectivity system, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The model also supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, allowing users to power external devices.

Interior space is maximised by an ultra-thin horizontal battery layout, contributing to a low centre of gravity for superior dynamics. Additionally, the boot offers up to 1,441 litres including the underfloor area.

First Public Test Drives At Malaysia Autoshow
Malaysia Autoshow 2025 visitors will be the first to test drive the MG S5 EV before its official market launch. MG is also offering test drives of the MG5, MG4, and MG HS, while its showpiece electric roadster, the MG Cyberster, is also on display.
