Proton Returns To Singapore Market With e.MAS 7 Electric SUV

PROTON has officially re-entered the Singapore market after more than a decade, unveiling its first-ever  electric vehicle, the Proton e.MAS 7, at The Car Expo 2025 last weekend. The Proton e.MAS 7, is already Malaysia’s best-selling EV in the first 4 months of the year, and is offered in Singapore in both Prime and Premium variants.

This marks the second international appearance for the e.MAS 7, following its debut in Nepal in March. More significantly, Singapore becomes the first ASEAN export market for the model, a strategic step in PROTON’s regional EV ambitions.Proton_e.MAS7_VINCAR Group_Singapore

PROTON’s return is made possible through a partnership with VINCAR Group, now the brand’s authorised distributor in Singapore. VINCAR will lead Proton’s retail operations under the e.MAS EV sub-brand, focusing on delivering high-quality electric vehicles tailored for the island nation’s urban-centric drivers.

The move is timely as Singapore accelerates its push toward sustainable mobility. EV sales in the island republic have grown from 12% in 2022 to 18% in 2023, with projections of EVs making up 55% of new car sales by 2027. The city-state has ambitious plans to install 60,000 EV charging points by 2030, supporting its goal for 100% cleaner-energy vehicles by 2040. Proton e.MAS 7_Infotainment_FlyMe

  • 7 nm intelligent cockpit chip

Back in Malaysia, PROTON has already received over 6,000 bookings for the e.MAS 7, indicating strong domestic demand for the homegrown EV.

Commenting on the milestone, Dr. Li Chunrong, CEO of Proton, said: “The debut of the Proton e.MAS 7 in Singapore marks a significant step in our international expansion and our commitment to bringing high-quality, technologically advanced EVs to the region. We are confident that the e.MAS 7, with its compelling features and suitability for urban environments, will resonate well with Singaporean drivers as the nation embraces electric mobility.”
