JAC T9 Pickup Truck Launched In Malaysia; Diesel & Electric Options Available
Evolvelectric Motors has officially launched the JAC T9 double-cab pickup truck in Malaysia, introducing both a diesel and a fully electric (BEV) variant to the market. The JAC T9 is here with hopes to redefine the pickup segment with its bold design, premium interior, advanced technology, and robust performance. 
A key highlight is the T9 2.0L diesel model which boasts a 5-star Australian NCAP safety rating under the latest testing protocols, making it the only pickup truck in Malaysia that can claim this (yes, we get the Aussie spec version). Also, the T9 BEV marks a significant milestone as the first 4×4 electric pickup truck available in Malaysia.

3rd-generation international platform, the T9 is the most advanced 4×4 pickup developed by JAC Motors in its 55-year history, incorporating enhanced stability, comfort, and safety. Mr. Lau further stated that JAC’s position as China’s leading pickup truck exporter in 2024 reflects its reputation for quality and performance.
The versatile T9 4×4 pickup adapts to any lifestyle, offering reliability for daily commutes, safety for family journeys, and versatility.
The T9 diesel variant is equipped with a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbodiesel engine producing 125 kW (168 hp) and 410 Nm of torque @ 1,500 – 2,500 rpm. Paired with it is a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels.
On the other hand, the T9 BEV 4×4 is powered by an 88 kWh LFP battery pack sourced from CATL that offers a WLTP-rated range of 340 kilometres. Its dual-motor setup delivers a combined output of 220 kW (295 hp) and 516 Nm of torque, with top speed capped at 140km/h. Charging capabilities include DC fast charging at 88 kW (15 – 80% in 45 minutes) and AC charging capable of charging the battery from 15% to 100% in approximately 8 hours and 30 minutes.

Test Drive & Win A Trip To Perth
The JAC T9 is currently on display at 1Utama Shopping Centre (Highstreet @ New Wing), from 6 to 9 March 2025.
To celebrate the launch, Evolvelectric Motors is running a test drive contest with a grand prize of a 4D3N trip to Perth for a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children under 12). The prize includes round trip airfare, a complimentary JAC T9 rental car for the duration of the trip, and 3 nights of accommodation at a selected hotel.
