MODENAS Enters New Market Segment With Kriss 125 Fi
At its recent annual dealer dinner, Motosikal & Enjin Nasional Sdn Bhd (MODENAS), a subsidiary of DRB-HICOM Berhad, announced its latest model, the Modenas Kriss 125 Fi, marking its entry into a brand new motorcycle segment.
The introduction of this bike is significant for MODENAS as it represents the company’s first foray into a new segment in its 30-year history. This move reinforces the company’s commitment to innovation and product portfolio expansion, to cater to a wider range of Malaysian riders.
The Modenas Kriss 125 Fi wears a retail price of RM5,620 (without insurance and road tax). It is now available at all authorised MODENAS dealerships nationwide in 2 colour options i.e. Glacier Emerald Green and Graphite Grey.
Key Features
The Kriss 125 Fi is powered by a 124 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, SOHC, 4-stroke, 2-valve engine that meets Euro 4 emission standards. With a fuel injection system, the bike delivers a maximum power output of 6.3 kW (8.4 hp) @ 8,000 rpm and peak torque of 8.5 Nm @ 6,000 rpm.
The engine has a compression ratio of 9.3:1 and comes with both electric and kick-start systems. Its engine oil capacity is 1 litre and lubrication is via a pressure and splash system. Additionally, the motorcycle’s fuel tank capacity is 4.2 litres. Its transmission is a 4-speed constant mesh type with automatic clutch.
The bike runs on 70/90-17M/C 38P front tyres and 80/90-17M/C 50P rear tyres (tubeless), with hydraulic brakes in front and drum at the rear. There is also a USB port up top as well as in the underseat storage.
