PROTON Launches Limited Edition X50 Sport Edition With Enhanced Styling

PROTON has launched the Proton X50 Sport Edition (SE), a limited-production variant of its popular B-segment SUV. Designed for those seeking a unique blend of sportiness and sophistication, the X50 SE builds upon the success of the Premium variant with exclusive bold styling enhancements and interior upgrades.

The Proton X50 has been the best-selling B-segment SUV in Malaysia since its launch in 2020, with over 128,000 units sold. The new Sport Edition aims to further enhance its appeal, offering a more dynamic and premium aesthetic while retaining the performance, safety, and technology that customers expect from the brand.

Limited Edition Enhancements

The Proton X50 SE boasts 13 exclusive upgrades, most notably a sporty Aerokit comprising front, rear, and side skirts. The SE’s exterior is a striking Quartz Black colour that is complemented by sleek glossy black garnishes at the front and rear. Completing the sporty look are black 18″ alloy wheels and unique body decals.

Inside, the X50 SE offers a more sophisticated and practical experience. New additions include a wireless charger for convenience, Sport Edition carpet mats, stainless steel scuff plates, and a boot tray for better cargo organisation.

Under the hood of the X50 SE is the 1.5L turbocharged multi-point fuel injection engine that produces 150 PS (148 hp) and 226 Nm of torque. This is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Adopting the updates from the 2024 Proton X50, the SE features an upgraded 10.3″ infotainment head unit powered by a dual quad-core processor, the “Hi PROTON” voice command system, and the PROTON Link app for remote engine start and cabin cooling. Further, there is a high-definition 360-degree camera with 3D surround view for improved parking safety, as well as a 6-speaker audio system for better audio experience. The driver’s seat is 6-way power-adjustable, while the automatic air conditioning ensures a comfortable cabin environment. Finally, security tinting is included for added privacy and UV protection. The X50 SE also has a 5-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating, like the variant it’s based on. Proton X50 Sport Edition_Dashboard_Steering_Centre Console_Infotainment

Limited Availability

The upgrades to the X50 Sport Edition add a value of RM10,000 to the car. However, Proton is offering this special edition at an attractive price of RM105,300. Production is limited to just 1,000 units, making this a highly exclusive model.

To further sweeten the deal, PROTON is offering a limited-time cash rebate / ang pao. You can enjoy a RM7,000 rebate this month (January), and enjoy savings of RM13,500.

“The Proton X50 Sport Edition is about offering more excitement for Proton customers by leveraging on the popularity of the Proton X50, a crowd favourite since its launch. With the SE, we want to amplify that spirit by delivering a version that offers a more dynamic and sportier image, that customers have been longing for,” said Roslan Abdullah, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of PROTON. Proton X50_Sport Edition
