Honda Malaysia Launches Civic Updated With Google Built-In And More Standard Features For All Variants
Honda Malaysia has officially launched the 2025 Honda Civic, bringing a host of technological and design updates to its popular C-segment sedan. The highlight of the model refresh is the integration of Google Built-In, along with enhancements to the Honda CONNECT feature and the introduction of a fresh new exterior colour.
The launch follows up on a successful 2024 for Honda Malaysia, which saw the company sell over 81,600 vehicles and maintain its lead in the Non-National Passenger Vehicle Segment for the 11th consecutive year. Mr. Hironobu Yoshimura, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Honda Malaysia, expressed pride in the Civic’s continued success, noting its commanding 81% market share in the Non-National C-segment as of December 2024. “We are starting the year on a positive outlook with the introduction of the New Civic today which will bring this legacy to the next level with its advanced powertrain and seamless connectivity, transforming every drive into a remarkable journey.,” he said.
Bold Design & New Colour
The New Civic boasts an updated dynamic exterior with distinctive design elements. The e:HEV RS variant sports body-coloured front grille extensions and lower grille garnishes, along with new 18″ Matte Grey Alloy Wheels. The petrol version RS, on the other hand, features black-painted grille accents for a sporty feel; the previous 18″ wheel design is retained. A sleek black taillight extension is a consistent design update across all variants. Notably, a new Canyon River Blue Metallic joins the colour palette alongside Platinum White Pearl, Ignite Red Metallic, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, and Crystal Black Pearl.
The body dimensions remain similar, with only the length gaining 3 mm to 4,681 mm, mainly due to the updated bumper design. Width, height and wheelbase remain unchanged i.e. 1,802 mm, 1,415 mm and 2,735 mm respectively. Additionally, solar and security film is now provided as standard across the range.
Advanced Powertrain Choices
Under the hood, the 2025 Civic offers 2 powertrain options. The Civic e:HEV RS is fitted with a 2.0L e:HEV powertrain producing a maximum of 184 PS (181 hp) and 315 Nm of torque. Mated to an Electric Continuous Variable Transmission (e-CVT), this hybrid setup promises superior fuel efficiency and performance. For those seeking a sportier drive, the Civic RS petrol variant features a 1.5L VTEC turbocharged engine delivering 182 PS (180 hp) and 240 Nm of torque.
Additionally, the Civic e:HEV RS gains a new Individual drive mode for more personalisation.
