The Platinum Award is the highest category of MSOSH recognition and had not been awarded since 2007, further highlighting the significance of Petron’s achievement. The company also earned the High Achiever Award for its Bagan Luar Terminal, along with 5 Grand Awards, 2 Gold Merit Awards, and 5 Gold Class 1 Awards. Notably, Petron also became the first oil and gas company to secure the Gold Class 1 Award for 4 of its retail service stations under the Petroleum, Gas, Petrochemical, and Allied Sectors category.

“These awards underscore our commitment to prioritising safety and health in our daily operations, as we consistently strive for a record of zero lost-time injuries (LTI). The MSOSH award recognises 2 of our internal core values: Excellence and Safety. This win is a testament to our dedication to these values in every aspect of our operations. At Petron, we always aim to achieve greater heights in our OSH performance. The discipline instilled in our Petron Operations Integrity Management System (POIMS) has been pivotal to our success. We take pride in being the sole recipient of the Platinum award among numerous Malaysian companies  assessed,” commented Petron Malaysia General Manager, Faridah Ali. Petron Malaysia_Faridah Ali_President Award_Malaysia Society For Occupational Safety & Health 2024

Petron’s recognition follows an extensive evaluation process conducted by a qualified panel of auditors of OSH experts from various sectors, covering document reviews and site audits from June to July 2024. The awards assessed the company’s performance throughout 2023.

Introduced in 1982, the MSOSH Awards honour organisations which demonstrate excellence in occupational safety and health practices. The recognition is given to those which proactively and continually improve OSH
performance through effective safety and health management systems. This year’s results mark another milestone for Petron, building on its 9 awards earned in 2023, which included 3 Grand Awards, 3 Gold Merit Awards, and 3 Gold Class 1 Awards. Petron_Refinery_Port Dickson_Green Lung
