Omoda Unveils Wicked-Themed Vehicles In Collaboration With Universal Pictures

Omoda, a sub-brand of Chery, is in collaboration with Universal Pictures to celebrate the release of Wicked, the cinematic adaptation of the globally beloved stage musical of the same name. This unique partnership merges the art of the silver screen with Omoda’s artistic design and will be interpreted in the form of 2 themed vehicles i.e. the Omoda E5 Green Witch Edition and the Omoda 5 Pink Witch Edition.

The Omoda E5 Green Witch Edition is inspired by Elphaba, the green-skinned witch, while the Omoda 5 Pink Witch Edition represents the charismatic witch, Glinda. Both SUVs feature intricate custom wraps that bring these characters to life. These designs part of Chery and the Omoda brand’s dedication to creativity and its ability to engage with audiences beyond the automotive space. Both vehicles aim to transport fans into the fantastical world of Wicked while highlighting Omoda’s forward-thinking approach to automotive design.

This collaboration is part of the Omoda brand’s ‘O-Universe’ ecosystem which seeks to connect the brand with a new generation of consumers through cross-industry partnerships. By combining automotive design with pop culture phenomena, Omoda continues to strengthen its global appeal, creating unforgettable experiences that resonate with a diverse audience.

The Wicked movie is directed by Jon M. Chu whose portfolio includes Crazy Rich Asians. Wicked explores the untold story of the witches of Oz, following Elphaba, played by Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Award winner Cynthia Erivo, and Glinda, portrayed by music icon Ariana Grande. Their journey highlights themes of friendship, destiny, and personal growth as the 2 women transform into the iconic Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

In addition to Erivo and Grande, the film features a star-studded cast, including Malaysia’s own Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Jonathan Bailey, and Peter Dinklage. The movie premiered in cinemas nationwide on 22 November 2024.

Omoda’s collaboration with Universal Pictures not only celebrates the film but also demonstrates the brand’s dedication to innovation and cultural engagement. You will be able to view and snap photos with the Omoda 5 Pink Witch Edition vehicle which will be displayed at TGV Pavilion Bukit Jalil from 28 November to 11 December 2024.
