CADB Appoints 23 Dealers Nationwide For Dongfeng; Box EV Launching Soon In Malaysia
Central Auto Distributors Bhd (CADB), the exclusive importer and distributor of Dongfeng Cars in Malaysia, has appointed 23 authorised dealers nationwide for the Dongfeng brand ahead of the official launch of the Dongfeng Box EV which is set for the 4th quarter of 2024. CADB is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Persatuan Pengimpot dan Peniaga Kenderaan Melayu Malaysia (PEKEMA). 
Expanding CADB’s Dealer Network
The newly appointed dealerships span 5 regions across Malaysia, encompassing major urban areas and increasing accessibility to the Dongfeng Box. The dealers will facilitate sales and after-sales services, ensuring comprehensive support for customers. These 23 dealers represent the first batch of a planned wider network. CADB Experience Centres In Cyberjaya & Kota Damansara
Complementing the dealerships are CADB’s first Experience Centre in Wisma Yayasan PEKEMA, Cyberjaya, and a flagship store in Kota Damansara. These centres will provide customers and stakeholders with hands-on access to the Dongfeng Box and serve as venues for education, training, and engagement.
Dongfeng Box: An Electric Game-Changer
According to CADB, the Dongfeng Box is positioned to be a game-changer in Malaysia’s EV market. Offering a range of 430 km on a single charge, this fully electric light passenger vehicle is designed with advanced safety features, including an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) with lane-keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control, and collision warning. It also comes equipped with an automatic parking system, catering to the demands of urban mobility.

Road-Testing and Local Adaptation
The Dongfeng Box recently completed its final Research & Development (R&D) phase, which involved rigorous testing across Peninsular Malaysia. A specialist team of engineers from Dongfeng Motor conducted a series of tests, including the Adaptive Durability Test (DAT), Electric Road Test (ERT), and Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) Test, over a distance of 45,000 km from July to September 2024. These tests led to enhancements in navigation, safety features, and the Digital Head Unit (DHU), ensuring the vehicle is primed for Malaysian roads.
