Bermaz Xpeng Launches XPENG G6 EV In Malaysia
Bermaz Xpeng Sdn Bhd has officially introduced the XPENG G6 Ultra Smart Coupe SUV in Malaysia, marking the debut of the XPENG brand in the country. Available for booking at a starting price of RM 165,000, the XPENG G6 represents the next step in Bermaz’s sustainability goals by adding more environmentally friendly vehicles to its lineup.
XPENG Inc., founded in 2014, is a Chinese automaker specializing in smart electric vehicles (EVs) designed for tech-savvy consumers. The XPENG G6, a mid-size crossover SUV, is the fifth model introduced by XPENG and is built on the Smart Electric Platform Architecture 2.0 (SEPA 2.0). This cutting-edge platform features 800-volt architecture, optimizing R&D efficiency, cost, and delivering superior comfort and infotainment. 
The XPENG G6 comes in 2 variants, each offering different performance specifications. The G6 580 Pro variant (RM165,000) is equipped with a 66 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery pack, providing a range of up to 435 kilometers. This variant delivers 255 hp and 440 Nm of torque, and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds, with a top speed of 200 km/h. On the other hand, the G6 755 Pro variant (RM185,000) features an 87.5 kWh Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) battery, extending the range to 570 kilometers. It offers 282 hp and 440 Nm of torque, and reaches 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds, with the same top speed of 200 km/h.
The G6 also excels in charging efficiency, equipped with an 800-volt high-voltage silicon carbide (SiC) platform that supports superfast DC charging. The maximum DC charging capacity is 215 kW for the 580 Pro variant and 280 kW for the 755 Pro variant, enabling both models to charge from 10% to 80% in just 20 minutes. This rapid charging capability is complemented by an energy-saving thermal management system that optimizes range performance.
Safety is a cornerstone of the XPENG G6, which includes standard features like seven airbags and electronic child locks. The advanced XPILOT 2.5 driver assistance system enhances safety with high-definition millimeter-wave radar, ultrasonic radar, and a 360˚ HD camera powered by the Nvidia Orin-X chipset. This setup supports features such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Stop & Go, Lane Centering Control (LCC), Active Lane Change (ALC), Enhanced Auto Parking Assist (EAP 2.0), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Blind-spot Detection (BSD), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA), among others.
The XPENG G6’s design reflects a blend of aesthetics and performance. Its dynamic body structure, featuring a steel and lightweight aluminum blend, offers a low center of gravity for enhanced driving control. The vehicle’s tech-fluid aesthetics are complemented by short front and rear overhangs and a suspended roof design, which improve aerodynamics and provide a spacious interior.
Inside, the G6 introduces the “Circle of Life” design concept, focusing on comfort and space. The cabin offers ample legroom and headroom, eco-friendly materials, and features like ventilated and heated seats with power adjustments and memory functions for the driver and front passenger. Rear passengers also enjoy heated seats. For added convenience, the G6 includes dual wireless charging pads, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, and the XFreeBreath air purification system.
The G6’s Smart Cockpit is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon SA8155P chipset and operates on the Xmart OS 5.0 system, which enhances interaction through a 14.96″ high-resolution central control system and a 10.2″ digital dashboard. The vehicle’s Intelligent Voice Assistant and XPENG mobile application enable remote control of various functions, including Enhanced Auto Parking Assist (EAP 2.0) and Auto Exit Parking Assist (AEP). The infotainment system supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and provides a comprehensive media library, all of which are updated Over-the-Air (OTA) for future-proof functionality.
The audio experience is elevated with an 18-speaker XOpera surround sound system delivering 960W of power, enhanced by panoramic sound effect technology and XPENG’s proprietary acoustic algorithm.
The XPENG G6 is a Completely Built-Up (CBU) model imported from China and comes in 5 exterior colors i.e. Midnight Black, Silver Frost, Arctic White, Graphite Gray, and Fiery Orange. Interior options include leatherette in Black and Grey. The G6 is backed by a 5-year manufacturer warranty (or 120,000 km) and an 8-year warranty for the high-voltage battery pack, with a mileage limit of 160,000 km.
