GWM’s Strategy For Malaysia Includes Local Assembly Of Haval H6

Great Wall Motor (GWM) is making waves in the global automotive market with its long-termism business strategy which focuses on 4 key pillars i.e. Locally Built, Locally Operated, Locally Cultivated, and Supply Chain Integration. This strategy has paid off, resulting in a 62.59% year-on-year increase in global sales, with GWM selling an impressive 201,500 units overseas in the first half of 2024.

In Malaysia, GWM hopes to build on this momentum by launching a range of vehicles in 2024. Subsequent to the Tank 300 will be the GWM Haval H6. Dubbed the ‘Best-Selling SUV in China’, it is set to be launched in Q3 2024. This vehicle also marks a significant milestone as GWM’s first CKD (Completely Knocked Down) model in Malaysia. Collaboration With EPMB

The GWM Haval H6 CKD project is a collaborative effort with EP Manufacturing Berhad, a Malaysian automotive investment holding company. The establishment of a CKD plant in Malaysia is a strategic move for GWM to strengthen its presence in the ASEAN region. This initiative not only expands GWM’s production capabilities overseas but also creates more employment opportunities for Malaysians.

The assembly plant will enable GWM to offer a more affordable range of high-quality vehicles, backed by a comprehensive sales, aftersales service, and spare parts infrastructure network. This approach ensures that GWM can better meet the diverse needs of its customers in Malaysia and possibly the broader ASEAN market.

A Commitment To Sustainable Mobility

GWM is also committed to promoting sustainable mobility solutions in Malaysia. Following the successful launch of the electric hatchback GWM Ora Good Cat at the end of 2022, GWM has continued to expand its product line with environmentally friendly vehicles. 2024 has been a pivotal year for GWM, with the introduction of the GWM Ora 07 in April and followed by the GWM Tank 300 in July, both receiving overwhelming response from Malaysian consumers.
