2024 Proton X50 Receives 8,000 Bookings In First Month; Production Ramped Up To Meet Demand

PROTON has shared that its 2024 Proton X50 has received 8,000 bookings within a month of its launch in June. This has exceeded its expectations and also set a new benchmark in the X50’s segment. Since its initial release in 2020, the Proton X50 has been Malaysia’s best-selling SUV, with 115,262 units sold up to June 2024.

The overwhelming reception of the 2024 Proton X50 means PROTON has to ramp up production to meet delivery timelines. The company expects to make its first deliveries in August. Those eligible for the early bird promotion, which includes a RM7,000 cash discount and RM1,000 to RM1,500 trade-in support, will receive these benefits accordingly.

The key changes to the 2024 Proton X50 were to improve its comfort, performance, and offer better value. The new NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) package improves over 20 areas for better road noise insulation, creating a quieter and more refined interior ambiance. Additionally, the power tailgate added to the Premium and Flagship variants offers ease of operation.

Further, the upgraded 10.3” infotainment head unit (IHU) is another highlight, featuring a new dual quad-core processor unit that provides faster boot-up speed and loading time, allowing for seamless operation of multiple apps concurrently. The IHU also includes the popular “Hi PROTON” voice command and PROTON Link app that enables remote engine start and cabin cooling.

The 2024 X50 also gets the best-in-class 360-degree camera provide clarity even in low-light conditions to make parking easier. The 3D display also integrates a blind spot monitoring system to enhance safety and awareness while cruising at speeds of up to 150 km/h.

Additionally, to celebrate PROTON’s 5 millionth unit production milestone, the company has rolled out promotional packages for other models. For instance, there is a RM500 cash rebate for the Proton Saga, RM7,000 for the Proton X70, and a free 2-year service maintenance for the Proton X90. Also, a ‘no purchase obligation Test Drive and Win’ event has been introduced at Proton showrooms nationwide.
