Updated Mercedes-Benz GLB 200 & GLB 250 4MATIC Launched In Malaysia

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has launched the updated Mercedes-Benz GLB in 2 variants i.e. the GLB 200 and GLB 250 4MATIC. The GLB 200 has a Progressive Line exterior while the GLB 250 4MATIC has AMG Line. The GLB’s facelift comes with a redesigned front bumper and front apron with design. The GLB 200 features an SUV radiator grille with four horizontal louvres, while the GLB 250 4MATIC’s radiator grille has a single louvre and chrome inserts.

Additionally, the Night Package adds high-gloss black finishes to various trim parts such as the louvres of the radiator shell, the trim elements on the front and rear apron, the roof railing, exterior mirror housing, beltline and window line trim strip, and simulated underguard at the front and rear. The GLB 250 4MATIC features exclusive AMG front and rear aprons with high-gloss black tailpipe trim. New full-LED headlights and rear lights, along with the new Spectral Blue Metallic paint option, further enhance its look. The GLB 200 comes with 18″ 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels, while the GLB 250 4MATIC is fitted with 19″ AMG 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels.

The spacious interior of the GLB combines practicality with a modern high-tech ambiance, accommodating up to 7 occupants. The freestanding 10.25″ wide-screen double displays for the instrument cluster and multimedia, is one of the interior’s key features. The latest MBUX infotainment system offers wireless access to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with hard-disc navigation available via the Mercedes me store.

Other features in the interior are the sporty round air vents and a multi-function sports steering wheel. The GLB now includes an additional USB C port, and all ports come with increased charging power and illumination. Comfort seats upholstered in ARTICO man-made leather are standard on the GLB 200, while the GLB 250 4MATIC features a combination of ARTICO leather and MICROCUT microfibre. Ambient lighting with 64 colours and THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control add to the vehicle’s luxurious feel.

The GLB gets numerous safety features, including Blind Spot Assist, Exit Warning Assist, Active Brake Assist, and a Parking Package with a reverse camera. Additional features include the KEYLESS-GO Comfort package, EASY-PACK tailgate, and GUARD 360° Vehicle protection.

The GLB 200 is powered by a 1.3L 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine delivering 120 kW (163 hp) @ 5,500 rpm and 270 Nm of torque @ 2,000 – 3,500 rpm. On the other hand, the GLB 250 4MATIC gets a larger 2.0L turbo petrol engine producing 165 kW (224 hp) @ 5,500 rpm and 350 Nm of torque @ 2,000 – 4,000 rpm. Exclusive to the GLB 250 4MATIC is the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system and a 48-volt electrical system with a belt-driven starter generator (BSG), providing an additional 10 kW of power for faster acceleration and improved efficiency. The Mercedes-Benz GLB 200 is priced at RM290,888 while the GLB 250 4MATIC is RM341,888 (on the road without insurance).
