UMW Toyota Motor Achieves Strong May Sales And Continues With Community And Sustainability Initiatives

UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT) had a positive ending to the month of May 2024, selling a total of 8,422 vehicles (both Toyota & Lexus combined). This brings its year-to-date sales total to 39,211 vehicles for the first 5 months of 2024.

To continue its growth trend, and as part of its commitment to enhancing the buying experience, UMWT is running the “Peace of Mind” promotion for June 2024. This promo offers customers up to 100% financing on selected models. For instance, the Toyota Vios has monthly instalments from RM688, while the Yaris comes with savings of up to RM7,500. Furthermore, the Toyota Service Savers programme offers convenient monthly instalments starting from as low as RM31.Toyota Vios_Slalom

Beyond sales, Toyota is dedicated to fostering happiness, enhancing the quality of life and promoting inclusive growth across society. In line with this commitment to community and environmental sustainability, UMWT’s 23rd Toyota Eco Youth (TEY) programme (launched in partnership with the Ministry of Education) aims to empower students aged 13 to 17 with critical thinking and problem solving skills, through Toyota’s 8 Steps Problem-Solving Method (PSM). Since its inception in 2001, TEY has engaged over 300,000 students from 521 schools, fostering a legacy of environmental stewardship. TEY 2024/2025 has 16 schools vying for cash prizes totaling up to RM80,000. This programme encourages innovative solutions from the youth and also aligns with UMWT’s environmental action plan to achieve zero CO2 emissions by 2050.

For community engagement, UMWT held the Toyota Start Your Impossible Outrun. The 2024 edition was its 3rd event to raise awareness on cancer. The funds raised from this annual event will support the National Cancer Society of Malaysia (NCSM). Reflecting Toyota’s global Start Your Impossible campaign, the event featured various race categories, including competitive races with an RM50,000 prize pool and a Fun Run for all ages. This initiative is part of UMWT’s dedication to social responsibility and community unity.

“Our strong performance in May highlights our relentless commitment to providing exceptional vehicles and services that cater to the diverse needs of our customers. The success of community programmes strengthens our dedication to environmental sustainability and social responsibility, reinforcing our role as a leader in the automotive industry and embodying our ‘Move Your World’ philosophy,” said Datuk Ravindran K., President of UMWT.
