Powerman Malaysia 2024 by Jaecoo Returns To Putrajaya

Putrajaya once again became the backdrop for Powerman Malaysia 2024. The 19th edition of Powerman Malaysia was presented by partner, Jaecoo, and saw an unprecedented turnout of over 4,000 participants last weekend to maintain its status as the World’s Biggest Duathlon.

With over 4,000 hobby and elite duathletes, the run-bike-run event also saw a record turnout of international participants gathered at Dataran Putrajaya. Athletes competed across various distance categories, including the Classic distance (10 km run, 60 km bike, 10 km run) and the Short distance (5 km run, 30 km bike, 5 km run). There were also 3 exciting Powerkids categories for children aged 6 to 15. The event also featured a heartwarming inclusion of 20 children with physical disabilities and special needs, who were cheered on enthusiastically by spectators and participants alike.Powerman Malaysia_Jaecoo

YB Hannah Yeoh, Minister of Youth and Sports of Malaysia, Y.Bhg Dato’ TPr. Fadlun Bin Mak Ujud, President of Putrajaya Corporation, Emily Lek, Vice President of Jaecoo Malaysia, and En. Mohammad Isa Abdul Halim, Director of Meeting & Support Incentives at Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) were present to flag-off the Elite, Classic, and Short categories.

In the Elite male category, John Leerams Chicano from the Philippines clinched first place with a time of 02:41:48. While Rendy Williams from the United States secured the top spot in the Elite female category with a time of 03:09:34. The Malaysian participants also made a strong showing, with Esther Joy Hong Li Chen finishing 2nd in her category (03:13:35), Muhammad Rabani Bin Hashim 5th (02:58:41), and Nazri Muhamad 6th (02:59:24).

At the event, participants and visitors had the chance to check out the Jaecoo J7 premium SUV, which served as the race starter vehicle. Attendees also experienced the vehicle’s all-wheel drive (AWD) and two-wheel drive (2WD) variants at the venue. The Jaecoo J7 will see its official launch in Malaysia soon.
