New Aston Martin Vantage Launched In Malaysia
Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur has launched the new Aston Martin Vantage in Malaysia. This latest iteration of the Vantage is not only the fastest ever produced in Gaydon’s 74-year history but also exemplifies Aston Martin’s commitment to pure driving pleasure with its meticulously balanced front-engine, rear-wheel-drive chassis.
The Vantage’s illustrious history began in 1950 with an enhanced engine package for the DB2, but it wasn’t until 1964 that the Vantage name was used as a model designation with the high-performance DB5 Vantage. By the early 1970s, the Vantage had established itself as a standalone model, evolving into a cornerstone of Aston Martin’s lineup.
The Malaysian debut of the new Vantage coincides with a particularly vibrant chapter in Aston Martin’s 111-year history. The brand is an established presence in the 2023 Formula One season, in international GT racing, and is aiming for Le Mans 24 Hours glory in 2025 with the Valkyrie AMR. These motorsport achievements underpin the Vantage’s track-proven racing DNA.
“From Silverstone to Sepang, the Aston Martin Vantage has developed a reputation as one of the most iconic nameplates in sports car history. The new Vantage epitomises the most dynamic period in Aston Martin’s 111-year history, deriving track-proven racing DNA from the brand’s exploits on the most competitive motorsports grids in the world. Bolstered by state-of-the-art technology and sophistication, the unique Vantage formula befits first-time Aston Martin owners and long-time brand enthusiasts alike. We are extremely thrilled to give it a home here in Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur,” said Mr. Chris Chia Kok How, General Manager of Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur.
At the heart of the new Vantage is a heavily reworked, hand-built 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine producing 665 PS (655 hp) and 800 Nm of torque. This is a significant increase over its predecessor (+155 PS and +115 Nm) that is achieved through extensive tuning, modified cam profiles, optimised compression ratios, larger turbos, and enhanced cooling systems. Mated to an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission, the Vantage accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 325 km/h. A new Launch Control system, integrated with the powertrain and Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), ensures optimal acceleration performance.
To manage the increased thermal load from the enhanced engine performance, Aston Martin has redesigned the cooling system with additional radiators and auxiliary coolers, alongside a new auxiliary outboard engine oil cooler. Thermal airflow has also been boosted with a 50% increase in the volume of cold air reaching the radiators. The new Vantage also benefits from a bonded aluminium construction, improving torsional rigidity and dynamic performance through advanced stiffening components and optimised body structures. Optimisations to the front body cross member and front engine cross brace give the Vantage a stiffer and sharper front end while the rear has benefited from a 29% increase in stiffness under cornering load due to increased lateral strengthening between the rear suspension towers.
The Vantage’s handling and driver feedback are further enhanced by intelligent adaptive dampers and an advanced Electronic Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) system. Custom-developed AML-coded Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tyres and a non-isolated steering column provide precise, responsive steering. The Vantage rides on 21” forged alloy wheels, with optional Carbon Ceramic Brakes (CCB) for superior stopping power and reduced brake fade.
Aesthetically, the new Vantage features a wider, redesigned front-end with a larger grille for increased airflow, Matrix LED headlamps with new light signatures, and iconic side strakes. The interior combines luxury and technology with hand-stitched Bridge of Weir leather, a 10.25″ touchscreen infotainment system, and a premium 390W 11-speaker audio system with QuantumLogic® surround sound processing, and Apple CarPlay. You can also pick the optional system developed with Aston Martin’s audio partner, Bowers & Wilkins.
Starting at RM2,370,000, the new Aston Martin Vantage is now available for booking in Malaysia. The price includes a 3-year factory warranty, extendable up to 20 years, offering a comprehensive ownership experience with lifetime vehicle protection.
For those seeking further personalisation, the Q by Aston Martin service allows for bespoke customisations, ensuring each Vantage is as unique as its owner. With its blend of performance, luxury, and advanced technology, the new Aston Martin Vantage sets a new benchmark for sports cars in Malaysia.
