Maxim E-Hailing’s Tips for Affordable Rides During Peak Hours

Regular e-hailing users know of the challenge to secure a ride during peak hours, especially in the city. High demand can often lead to longer wait times as well as higher fares. To make things more sane, here are some valuable tips to help e-hailing users navigate rush hour and secure rides at more affordable rates.

Peak traffic happens twice daily on regular weekdays i.e. in the mornings and evenings. The increased congestion during this time causes traffic jams that affect waiting times and fuel costs which drive up prices. By planning your trips wisely, you can mitigate these factors.City Traffic_Cars

Morning Strategies

Traffic congestion typically occurs between 7:00 AM and 9:30 AM. Thus to avoid delays and higher fares, you should aim to book your ride 15 to 20 minutes before peak hour typically begins. This will not only reduce waiting times but also the stress of securing an e-hailing ride.

Evening Tactics

Similarly, traffic in the evenings build up from 4:30 PM on regular weekdays. As such, you can either book your ride roughly 20 minutes before rush hour starts, or wait until it ends to secure better prices.Maxim Malaysia_E-Hailing_Ride Hailing

Booking Tips From Experts

“Most of the passengers who need a ride during busy hours are office workers. They usually make bookings in the morning and in the evening. Some of them are willing to pay more to get their car faster, but some are on a budget and wait long hours to get a better price. It’s a good idea to book a ride 15–20 minutes early because this can benefit both parties,” said Saiful Zamir, partner-driver of Maxim E-hailing.

Maxim’s Speed-Up Button

For those in a hurry, Maxim’s app also features a ‘speed-up’ button for those who need to get a ride as soon as possible. For a small additional fee (between RM1 to RM3), this option prioritises your order and assigns the nearest available driver to ensure quicker service.

Pre-Booking Rides

This is especially useful when you know your schedule i.e. when you need to leave a place or when you need to arrive at a particular destination. You can schedule rides in advance (up to 5 days in advance) through the Maxim app, specifying the address and time. This feature is particularly useful for travelers heading to the airport, ensuring timely pickups and reducing last-minute stress.

Carpooling To Save Time and Money

Carpooling is another popular option for Maxim users to save money. The service allows for up to 3 drop-off addresses per ride, making it convenient for colleagues, neighbours or friends to travel together.

“I used the carpooling method to send my children to school during my busy day. The driver comes to pick up my 3 children who go to different schools. This helps me save time and money, and I can focus on my work,” commented Syuraini ABD, Maxim E-hailing user.

E-hailing is a convenient service, and planing ahead and taking advantage of the (Maxim) app’s features such as pre-booking and carpooling will help you save time and money.
