Third Edition Of Toyota START YOUR IMPOSSIBLE Outrun To Raise Cancer Awareness
UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT) has announce the third edition of the Toyota START YOUR IMPOSSIBLE Outrun will take place in June 2024. This annual charity run will be held at Dataran Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur, and is part of Toyota’s global Start Your Impossible (SYI) campaign to support a noble cause while embracing Toyota’s mission of Mobility for All. This year, this initiative will be supporting cancer awareness.
Start Your Impossible is Toyota Motor Corporation’s global branding initiative launched in conjunction with the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. In line with this campaign, UMWT will host the annual Toyota START YOUR IMPOSSIBLE Outrun and highlight its leadership in innovative mobility solutions. Proceeds from the event will support the National Cancer Society of Malaysia (NCSM), funding cancer awareness, research, and vital patient and family support services.
“The Toyota START YOUR IMPOSSIBLE Outrun incorporates our dedication to Move Your World. It’s not just about encouraging physical activity but rather a platform for fostering social responsibility and empowering individuals to embrace mobility as a catalyst for positive change in our communities. Through this event, we aim to inspire participants to not only push their physical limits but also to recognise the profound impact they can have on society by coming together in support of a worthy cause,” commented Datuk Ravindran K., President of UMWT.
Building on the success of previous years which saw over 4,300 participants, the Toyota START YOUR IMPOSSIBLE Outrun offers race categories for a wide range of ages and abilities. This year’s event will include competitive races e.g. a 10KM race for individuals aged 18 and above, in which runners can compete for a part of the RM50,000 prize pool. Additionally, the event features a Fun Run category, allowing participants of all ages to join in and support the cause.
The Toyota START YOUR IMPOSSIBLE Outrun transcends competition to symbolise a collective movement towards change. It unites individuals committed to making a difference in the lives of cancer patients and their families, celebrating the human spirit and the power of community in driving positive societal change.
“Cancer ranks as the fourth leading cause of death in Malaysia, highlighting the critical need to raise awareness and rally support for this initiative,” Datuk Ravindran K. added. “By uniting, we have the power to significantly impact the lives of cancer patients and their families, while also supporting vital research and services aimed at combating this disease.”
Registration for the Toyota START YOUR IMPOSSIBLE Outrun is open until 2 June 2024. Everyone is invited to lace up their running shoes and participate in this meaningful journey.
