Shell Malaysia Takes Lead In Assisting Fleet Owners Navigate SKDS 2.0 Transition
As Malaysia gears up for the implementation of the Skim Kawalan Diesel Bersubsidi 2.0 (SKDS 2.0), Shell Malaysia has stepped forward to offer support to fleet and business owners across the country. Since the official announcement by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) on 7 March 2024, Shell has been leveraging its deep understanding of the Malaysian market and transport challenges to help prepare businesses for the impending transition.
At a recent Hari Raya event, Joanna Lean, General Manager of Shell Fleet Solutions Malaysia, addressed over 250 industry leaders to affirm Shell’s readiness to guide fleet owners of all sizes through the SKDS 2.0 process. Emphasising the importance of personalized assistance, Lean highlighted Shell’s expert account management team which are ready to assist businesses every step of the way.
“At Shell, we believe that the human touch is reassuring, especially when one is navigating an unfamiliar path. Our experienced specialists are ready to provide guidance in the two-step SKDS process. Firstly, businesses should promptly apply for their diesel subsidy quota through the MySubsidi portal at https://mysubsidi.kpdn.gov.my to avoid any bottlenecks. Secondly, apply for a Shell Card to be entitled for the subsidised diesel price,” she said.
Shell offers 2 types of diesel subsidy cards that are ready for SKDS 2.0. The first option is the postpaid Shell Card backed by the Shell Fleet Hub, a one-stop online card management platform with 24/7 customer support. For small and medium enterprises (SMEs) seeking a quick and simple application process, the Shell Cash Card for subsidised diesel is a convenient solution.
According to Lean, Shell is offering a special welcome package for new sign-ups during this period. This is made more convenient with Shell’s expansive network of over 1,000 retail stations nationwide.
Convenience-driven fleet operators, like Encik Zainee bin Awang Damit of Pengangkutan Z&M, appreciates the Shell Cash Card for subsidised diesel due to its flexibility and convenience as well as the friendly service at his preferred Shell station. The Shell Cash Card for subsidised diesel does not require any prepayment, and allows customers to enjoy Bonuslink loyalty points with each refuel.
Meanwhile, Perceptive Logistics Sdn Bhd, based in Port Klang, and a participant in the recent SKDS 2.0 pilot programme, commended Shell’s support throughout the initiative. “We are glad to have Shell supporting us throughout this pilot, given our complex fleet operations of more than 250 prime movers with branches throughout Peninsular Malaysia. There’s peace of mind working with the Shell team. Their experienced account manager and customer service team ensured that we were quickly onboarded with the Pilot project for MySubsidi Diesel, which is crucial to our business in an industry where margins are razor-thin,” said General Manager, Haulage Division, Annie Goh.
Shell is looking to be the preferred fleet partner in Malaysia during the SKDS 2.0 rollout, and the impending transition to e-invoicing. For more information on Shell Card, please visit https://www.shell.com.my/
