Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Open For Booking; Estimated Price Below RM130k
Chery Malaysia has opened the order books for the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro. Slated for launch in April, the C-segment Tiggo 7 Pro is a new addition to Chery’s Tiggo SUV family and is expected to be priced below RM130,000.
Under the hood, and hidden under an expanse of plastic covering is a 1.6L turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine that is paired with a 7-speed wet dual clutch transmission, providing 197 hp and 290 Nm of torque. According to Michael Chew, Product Director at Chery Malaysia, the Tiggo 7 Pro’s gearbox is rated for a maximum torque of 390 Nm and as such, would not be overly stressed in practical use. Official fuel consumption is recorded at 7.0L/100km, though there is no 0 – 100 km/h numbers provided. For comparison, the South African version does the century sprint in 9.5 seconds but its 1.6L engine has lower output i.e. 184 hp and 275 Nm.
The 5-seater Tiggo 7 Pro has a wheelbase of 2,670 mm and physical dimensions of 4,513 mm (length), 1,862 mm (width) and 1,696 mm (height). This makes it larger and more spacious than Chery’s other 5-seater SUV, the Omoda 5 which measures 4,400 mm long, 1,830 mm wide and 1,588 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,630 mm. The Tiggo 7 Pro’s cargo space starts at 475 litres and expands to 1,672 litres with the seats folded; its ground clearance is 175 mm and it rides on 18″ tyres.
On the dashboard is a wide twin display measuring 24.6″ in total and housing the infotainment functions and vehicle and driving information. The infotainment system comes with an 8-speaker Sony sound system as well as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless connectivity; smartphones with wireless charging can rest on the 50W wireless charging pad which has an active cooling system that effectively reduces the phone’s temperature when charging. Cabin comfort is complemented by a panoramic sunroof, 64-colour ambient lighting and ventilated leatherette front seats.
In terms of safety, the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro is fitted with the latest Advanced Driver Assistance System 2.5 (ADAS 2.5) system. There are 16 active safety features i.e. Autonomous Emergency Braking, Front Collision Warning, Lane Change Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Departure Prevention, Blind Spot Detection, Door Opening Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Rear Collision Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Traffic Jam Assist, Emergency Lane Keeping Assist, Intelligent High Beam, Multi-collision Brake, Adaptive Cruise Control, Integrated Cruise Assist. Other notable features include a 540-degree panoramic camera view, tyre pressure monitoring system, hill descent control, and 7 airbags.

According to Chery Malaysia Vice President, Lee Wen Hsiang, the first batch of deliveries will happen towards the end of May 2024.
The Chery Tiggo 7 Pro will come in 4 colours i.e. Bloodstone Red with Black Roof, Carbon Black, Vanilla Blue and Khaki White with Black Roof.
