UMW Toyota Motor Drives Forward With Innovations In Sustainable Mobility

UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT) revved up February 2024 with a monthly total sales of 7,480 units. The February total is made up of 7,347 units of Toyota and 133 units of Lexus. This brings UMWT’s total sales for the first 2 months of year to 13,756 vehicles. Toyota Yaris_Red Mica MetallicLooking ahead, the company started accepting bookings for the much-anticipated Toyota Hiace Panel Van 3.0 IMP2024 on 1 March 2024. With a load length of 2,900 mm, this commercial van gets substantial upgrades, including an enhanced 3.0L turbo diesel engine that meets Euro 4 emission standards, in support of the government’s effort to a lower-carbon ecosystem. Upgraded from the previous 2.5L diesel engine, the new enhanced engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and delivers 136 PS (134 hp) @ 3,400 rpm and 300 Nm @ 1,200 – 2,400 rpm to provide effortless load carrying while being cost efficient. Safety features include Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Load Sensing Proportioning & Bypass Valve (LSP & BV), High Mount Stop Lamp, and Reverse Sensors. In February, UMWT also hosted the Beyond Zero event, a 9-day showcase to highlight Toyota’s innovations on sustainable mobility for carbon neutrality by 2050. The Beyond Zero event featured a variety of innovative new energy vehicles, including Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV), Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV), and Hydrogen Fuel Cell (FCEV) technology, to show Toyota’s multi-angle approach to a greener future.
