Stellantis Malaysia Accelerates Growth with New Operations and Expanded Portfolio

Stellantis N.V. has announced the commencement of operations of its Stellantis Malaysia National Sales Company (Stellantis Malaysia). Our priorities are four-pronged – accelerating market growth, expanding product portfolio, creating new dealership opportunities nationwide, and subsequently providing improved customer experience. This includes expanding our dealer network nationwide and building a stronger presence in East Malaysia,” commented Jamie Francis Morais, Managing Director of Stellantis Malaysia.

Stellantis Malaysia now assumes the role of brand principal, succeeding Bermaz Auto, the former distributor for the Peugeot brand in Malaysia. “We thank Bermaz Auto for their efforts as the custodians of the Peugeot brand in Malaysia since December 2020. With the establishment of Stellantis Malaysia, we are committed to continuing the growth of Peugeot and the prospects of bringing in a wider range of vehicles from other brands under the Stellantis portfolio whilst focusing on enhancing the lives of our customers through our products and services. We will start with a focus on Peugeot, which is a dynamic and innovative brand that possesses an Alluring line-up that we are very excited about,” added Morais. Stellantis Malaysia_Gurun Plant

Apart from Peugeot, Stellantis Malaysia plans to introduce a range of vehicles, including the all-new Peugeot 408 in the 2nd quarter of 2024 as well as the locally-assembled Peugeot Landtrek. Other potential models from the Stellantis portfolio include Citroën C3 Aircross, Alfa Romeo Tonale MHEV, and Jeep Wrangler.

Stellantis also recently announced the optimisation of its plant in Gurun, Kedah as a regional manufacturing hub to produce vehicles for Malaysia and for the rest of the ASEAN region. Investing over RM2 billion (€400 million), Stellantis is introducing the STLA Medium platform to this region. This modular-by-design platform enables the production of multi-energy vehicles (BEV, ICE, MHEV) and opens avenues to locally manufacture cars from the Stellantis’ house of brands such as Jeep and Citroën at the Gurun plant. This centralised customer support hub will offer assistance on sales and aftersales inquiries, address feedback and complaints, and extend 24/7 roadside assistance for accidents and breakdowns.

Customers can contact 1800-18-STLA (7852) or email customersupport.my@stellantis.com. Operating hours for all general enquiries to the call centre are Monday to Sunday, 8:45 AM to 5:45 PM. Roadside assistance will operate 24/7.
