GWM Malaysia Brings In Ora 07 & GWM Tank 300; Adds Pistachio Green To Good Cat Range
In late January, GWM Malaysia had shared that the Ora 07 is expected to reach Malaysia in the first quarter of 2024. And now it is confirmed that the company has brought in the Ora 07 as well as the GWM Tank 300. These 2 models are part of GWM Malaysia’s planned expansion of its product line-up. At the Malaysia Autoshow in May 2023, GWM had showed off the GWM Cannon pickup truck, Haval H6 as well as Haval Jolion hybrid SUVs, but not the Tank.
The GWM Tank 300 is its take on a rugged off-roader. Built on a 2,750 mm wheelbase, the Tank measures 4,760 mm long, 1,930mm wide and 1,903mm tall. Ground clearance is reported at 224 mm, with the vehicle having an approach angle of 33 degrees and a departure angle of 34 degrees.
The Tank 300 is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 petrol engine offering 217 hp and 380 Nm of torque that is sent to a 4WD system via an 8-speed automatic gearbox. There is also a hybrid variant with the 2.0L turbo 4-cylinder engine paired with a 78 kW electric motor to give a combined output of 258 kW (346 hp) and 615 Nm of torque. There is no indication yet which powertrain option will be available here.
As for the Ora 07, its official launch is pretty much confirmed for the first quarter of this year. This streamlined coupe will join the Good Cat in GWM Malaysia’s EV portfolio. Also known as the Lightning Cat, the B-segment Ora 07 comes in 2 powertrain configurations i.e. a single electric motor variant and a dual electric variant. Both variants should be using an 83.5 kWh ternary lithium battery pack for a driving range of up to 640 km and 550 km respectively.
Based on Thailand’s specs, the powertain of the front-wheel-drive Ora 07 Long Range variant provides 150 kw (201 hp) and 340 Nm, with top speed capped at 170 km/h. Meanwhile, the Ora 07 Performance has all-wheel-drive and its dual motor powertrain provides 300 kW (402 hp) and 680 Nm, with a maximum speed of 180 km/h. The latter variant claims a 0 – 100 km/h sprint time of 4.3 seconds.
Meanwhile, the Ora Good Cat now includes the Pistachio Green body colour in its range. This was previously exclusive to just the Good Cat 500 Ultra. The body colour choices currently available for the Good Cat are Coral Blue, Sun Black, Hamilton White, Mars Red (with Black roof), Hamilton White (with Black roof), Verdant Green (with White roof), and EM Beige (with Wisdom Brown roof).
