MG Brand Set For Launch In Malaysia

Automotive brand, MG (also known as Morris Garages), is set for a launch in Malaysia. The storied British marque, which made the popular MGB, is set to re-enter the country. Headquartered in London, it is now owned by SAIC Motor Corporation Ltd.

The MG brand can trace its roots back to England, 1924, where it has been more than just an automotive brand. It was a symbol of youthful excitement, seamlessly blending tradition and innovation. With racing genes embedded in its core, MG not only carried the torch of British excellence globally but etched its name in automotive history, delivering transcendent moments for an entire century. From its first MG 14/28 super sports car, a masterpiece crafted by founder Cecil Kimber, to the MG T-Series in the 1930s and the revolutionary MGB in the 1960s, MG has consistently pushed boundaries, evolving with the times. For the 21st century, MG has embraced cutting-edge technology and sustainability with new high performance electric models (EV), all while maintaining its racing DNA, to create a legacy that stands as a testament to its commitment to quality and performance.

100-years young, the MG brand will be represented here by SAIC Motor Malaysia Sdn Bhd. SAIC Motor is China’s largest automotive manufacturer, and ranked 84th in 2023 in the Fortune Global 500 company listing. The synergy between British heritage and Chinese innovation has not only preserved MG’s legacy but is propelling it to new heights. The combination of British flair and Chinese ingenuity has proven to work for the brand that now has a global presence in over 90 countries and a sales volume of 800,000 units (2023). MG HS
