Chery Malaysia is moving on with its plan to bolster its presence in Malaysia with the signing of 2 Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) i.e. with Carsome and Carsome Academy. The MoUs relate to the vehicle trade-in process as well as personnel skills enhancement. With this strategic collaboration, Chery hopes to redefine the automotive landscape by providing customers with unparalleled transparency, convenience, and value in their car ownership journey.

Through this partnership, Carsome with streamline the vehicle trade-in process for new Chery customers at the showroom. Customers who opt for a vehicle trade-in can have Carsome conduct a thorough vehicle  inspection at their preferred location. Post-inspection, Carsome will offer a trade-in price and upon acceptance, customers can seamlessly transition by handing over their old vehicle while collecting their new Chery vehicle.

Chery Auto Malaysia Vice President Lee Wen Hsiang said both collaborations were timely for Chery Malaysia’s growing customer base since the brand’s debut in July 2023. “The collaboration with Carsome will be beneficial and important for our dealers, especially with the increase in customers who seek to trade in their old cars for a new Chery vehicle”.

With plans to expand its showroom network to 48 outlets by the end of 2024, Chery has to prioritise customer service and satisfaction for sustained success in this market.

“At Carsome, we aim to collaborate with more automotive manufacturers as part of our commitment to offering trust, transparency, and choice to customers, enhancing the car buying and selling experience. Our collaboration with Chery is a step forward in that direction; it represents a milestone in expanding our network and touchpoints, furthering our mission to provide the best car ownership experience,” said Eric Cheng, Co-founder and CEO of Carsome. “Our partnership with Chery enables us to offer customers upfront information on their car’s trade-in value, facilitating a smoother transition to a new Chery vehicle”.

To celebrate this partnership, Carsome is further enhancing the collaboration with a special campaign for Chery dealers. From 15 January to 15 February, 2024, Chery customers trading in their vehicles will receive an additional RM500 (terms & conditions apply) on top of the trade-in offer price.
