Maserati continues its motorsport legacy with its second season in Formula E. Season 10 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship starts this weekend (13 January) with the Mexico City E-Prix. In the world’s most innovative all-electric racing series, Maserati stands as the first and only luxury Italian automotive brand in the championship, reaffirming its commitment to cutting-edge technology.
Late last September, Maserati MSG Racing announced its new driver line-up for the 2024 season. Race winner Maximilian Günther is joined by talented rookie, Jehan Daruvala, for a new chapter in Maserati’s pursuit of excellence in the all-electric single-seater world championship. The team is gearing up for a fresh challenge, blending experience and youthful energy to push the boundaries of performance. Daruvala is the only rookie on the grid this season.
Last season, Maserati MSG Racing’s competitiveness had the team frequently fighting in the top 10, and ultimately ending the championship in 6th place, thanks to 3 podium placings and a race victory for Max Günther. The German driver had delivered thrilling moments for the Trident’s fans, including a P1 in Jakarta and a 3rd place finish in the team’s home race in Rome.
For 2024, Maserati will set new competitive goals and objectives in technological innovation. The return to the track not only emphasises Maserati’s championship-winning pedigree but also signifies a pivotal moment for Folgore, Maserati’s all-electric range. By 2025, Maserati aims to introduce an all-electric variant across its entire model line-up, showcasing a commitment to sustainability and innovation.
Season 10 is the longest Formula E Championship to-date, with 17 races. In addition to new Asian venues such as Tokyo and Shanghai, the Misano Adriatico Circuit will also be replacing Rome for the Italy leg. Thus the Misano Adriatico Circuit becomes the “home stage” for Trident’s fans in Motor Valley and beyond.
