The initial expectation for the tour was to cover 2,751 km but when they reached Ho Chi Minh City, the final tally was 3,197 km (+446 km).

The IONIQ 5 ASEAN Tour was to be a dynamic proving ground to showcase the Hyundai IONIQ 5’s reliability, eco-friendliness, and long-distance capabilities, especially in Southeast Asia. As an added bonus, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 tour also showcased remarkable cost efficiency. Total energy cost of the road trip was about US$116 per car. This is approximately 2 times more cost efficient when compared to a vehicle with an internal combustion engine (ICE).

The IONIQ 5 ASEAN Tour entourage was made up of 5 vehicles of which 2 were manufactured in Indonesia and 3 in Singapore. It was done in collaboration with several participants from the Association of Singapore (AAS), Hyundai Motor Company, local community influencers, and Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) from Indonesia and Thailand. In Malaysia, the participants joined a media convoy which also included the IONIQ 6. While in Bangkok, Thailand, the IONIQ 5’s Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) feature helped transform the cars into power hubs, to power outdoor lamps, music performances, mini cinema experiences, and culinary experiences. We arrived at our destinations rejuvenated, waking up to a fully charged vehicle the next morning.”
