Jaecoo J7 SUV Confirmed For 2024 Launch In Malaysia
It is confirmed that the Jaecoo J7 will be launched in Malaysia in 2024. A pair of right-hand-drive units of this ‘urban off-road’ SUV had arrived a couple of weeks ago for local testing. The Jaecoo brand is marketed as a premium one and is targeted at modern professionals who want a blend of lifestyle and adventure. In terms of its marketing direction and strategy, Jaecoo will also stand independent of its parent brand, Chery, and its sister brand, Omoda, perhaps with the chance of introducing overlapping products. 
The exterior design of the Jaecoo J7 5-seater SUV showcases the brand’s talent and craftsmanship. Based on well-established manufacturing practice of its parent company and design by master designers from the UK & Germany, the J7 embodies the aesthetic philosophy of “From Classic, Beyond Classic” to blend traditional automotive excellence with contemporary innovation. The J7’s straight body lines and athletic contours highlight the “From Classic” rugged off-road style while the modern elements like split-type LED headlights, floating roof design, and retracting door handles show off “Beyond Classic” aesthetics.
Although a fairly new entrant to this segment, Jaecoo benefits from its parent company’s extensive experience in automobile manufacturing with a solid foundation in R&D, manufacturing, and operations. This helps Jaecoo establish its industrial foundation at a quicker pace and enhance its advanced capabilities in research and development, manufacturing, and operations.
The Jaecoo J7 features the innovative All Road Drive Intelligent System (ARDIS) for superior performance across various terrains. Powering the SUV is a 1.6L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 194 hp and 290 Nm, and paired with a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. Prioritising safety, Jaecoo ensures that all its models meet global 5-star safety standards, incorporating an energy-absorbing cage body, high-strength steel, and advanced ADAS system to offer comprehensive protection for passengers and drivers. 
The Jaecoo J7 features a 14.8″ panoramic infortainment screen, full LCD dashboard, and innovative W-HUD head-up display to ensure a user-centric, fluid interaction between the driver and the machine. Furthermore, all Jaecoo models are equipped with the cutting-edge 7 nm Qualcomm 8155 chip which provides strong computing power and responsiveness, including a 2-second boot-up time and the ability to process over 20 commands in 30 seconds. This processing power enhances the smart cockpit functionality with rapid response and smooth operation.
Based on its premium ambitions, we can expect the Jaecoo J7 to include quite a bit of creature comforts including powered seats with memory and ventilation, panoramic sunroof, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
