Catch The smart #1 Malaysia Launch Online 21 November 2023
From teasers to exclusive previews to test drives and numerous roadshows, smart Malaysia will now officially launch its first product – the smart #1. If you didn’t already know, the smart #1 is a new energy vehicle that is the product of a joint venture between Geely and Mercedes-Benz. Engineered and produced by Geely and designed by Mercedes-Benz, this battery electric vehicle (BEV) represents the pinnacle of automotive innovation in a premium package. 
Though there is a physical launch venue, it is limited to guests with formal invitation. For everyone else, smart Malaysia is inviting them to follow the official launch online and catch the introduction of the car’s features and technologies by a team of experts.
Built on Geely’s modular SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) platform for EVs, there will be 3 variants at launch i.e. smart #1 Pro, #1 Premium and #1 Brabus. The Pro and Premium variants have a single motor (200 kW (268 hp) and 343 Nm) driving the rear axle. This motor gets energy from a 66 kWh ternary lithium battery and provides a driving range of up to 440 km (WLTP). The official 0 – 100 km/h sprint time is 6.7 seconds.
As for the Brabus variant, this has an electric motor on each axle to make it all-wheel-drive. As such, power output is higher i.e. 315 kW (428 hp) and 584 Nm, which allows it to do go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. It has the same 66 kWh battery to give it a driving range of 400 km (WLTP).
