BMW And Gentari Sign MoU On Collaboration For Renewable Energy And Green Mobility Solutions

BMW Group Malaysia and Gentari Green Mobility Sdn Bhd have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the development of renewable energy and green mobility solutions.

Gentari_EV Charging_Box_PortClean energy solutions provider Gentari, and BMW are currently actively working together to explore  potential collaborations in areas such as the installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure at  various facilities including the BMW network of dealerships, various EV fleet solutions in the Malaysia market, value-added services for BMW EV owners including EV charging subscription plans, electric forecourts, portable charging and mobile charging services, and deployment of joint renewable energy infrastructure.

Additionally, Gentari’s capabilities in renewable energy will also help to establish a more comprehensive green electron value chain and together, we can pave the way for a greener and more sustainable future,” said Shah Yang Razalli, Deputy CEO of Gentari & CEO of Green Mobility Sdn Bhd who signed the MoU with Hans de Visser, Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia.

Since its introduction in June 2022, Gentari has rapidly expanded its green mobility network. Currently, Gentari, through its affiliated entities, has deployed over 160 charging points in Malaysia and over 170 charging points in India. Similarly, BMW Group Malaysia has also made over 1,000 charging facilities available in its network thus far. Access to over 400 of these facilities provided are through partnerships with ChargEV and Yinson Greentech, while the partnership with JomCharge enables access to over 100 charging facilities, Gentari with over 160 facilities as well as approximately 160 facilities from new partners such as Shell Recharge with ParkEasy, ChargeN’Go, ChargeSini, Go To-U and FlexiParking.

Furthermore, over 100 BMW i and MINI charging facilities are made available at most authorised dealerships, as well as partnering venues across the country, with more to come as part of the strategic infrastructure expansion plan set for the year ahead.
