Honda Malaysia has launched the all-new Honda WR-V, its first such model in the A-segment SUV class. Typical of most of its model range, the WR-V is available in 4 variants i.e. S, E, V and RS.

Providing power to all the variants is the familiar 1.5L i-VTEC engine that is paired to a CVT (continuously variable transmission) and produces 121 PS @ 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm of torque @ 4,300 rpm. The claimed fuel consumption of the WR-V is 6 litres per 100 km. The entire range is fitted with MacPherson struts in front and a torsion beam at the back. Stopping the WR-V are a pair of ventilated disc brakes in front and drums in the rear. Incidentally, the WR-V is one of the rare models today to still have a hand brake lever.

Built on a 2,485 mm wheelbase, the physical dimensions for the E, V and RS variants are the same i.e. 4,060 mm (length), 1,780 mm (width) and 1,608 mm (height). The base S variant carries identical dimensions but isn’t as tall (1,576 mm). Additionally, only the range-topping RS variant is fitted with 17″ alloy wheels while the other 3 variants use 16″ alloys. Boot space is however, the same across the range at 380 litres, as is ground clearance of 207 mm.

Standard equipment across the range are side mirror with turning lights, LED tail lights, rear wipers, smart entry with push button start, powered door mirrors, 7″ infotainment touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, and 2 USB ports.
