Isuzu Malaysia Updates D-Max Double Cab Range With Additional Features
Isuzu Malaysia has made updates to the Isuzu D-Max range by making the reverse camera a standard feature across the double cab range to boost convenience and safety for its customers. Previously, only the range-topper X-Terrain and Premium variants were fitted with reverse cameras.
And while most of us who drive passenger cars take the reverse camera for granted, it is not in the standard equipment list for non-flagship or non-premium variants for most pickup truck brands. Though some brands offer it as a cost option, it is usually a 3rd party installation for standard double cab buyers. By including the reverse camera as standard feature, Standard spec D-Max owners can now reverse or park more easily especially when carrying bulky loads.
The inclusion of the reverse camera to the base Standard 1.9L versions are to meet the requests from traders who want the security of this parking aid in their trucks. “With the immense capability of our pickup trucks, the Isuzu D-Max continues to appeal to those who depend on them heavily on a daily basis. By providing these users with a factory-fitted solution for their parking needs, not only do we help protect their investments, it also ensures that their vehicles continue to remain mobile reliably and safely,” said Isuzu Malaysia’s Chief Operating Officer Kenkichi Sogo.
Isuzu is now the first manufacturer in Malaysia to provide reverse cameras as standard across its entire double cab pick-up truck range. Since it is factory-fitted, the reverse camera sits neatly in a receptacle next to the tailgate handle. The crystal-clear images are relayed to a new 7″ touchscreen infotainment display. The head unit also has Bluetooth connectivity for playing music and making hands-free phone calls.
Catering to the needs of personal communication devices, the Isuzu D-Max 1.9L Standard models will also now come with 2 built-in USB ports up front (1 Type A and 1 Type C port) to offer more charging options.
Additionally, the exterior differentiation for the new 1.9L Standard models will be from the body-coloured door and tailgate handles which were previously silver in colour.
The enhanced Isuzu D-Max 1.9L Standard model is available with either a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox. It comes with a marginal price increase of RM1,500 over the outgoing variant.
Retail prices start from RM105,599.20 (on the road without insurance in Peninsular Malaysia).
