Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors Opens Booking For Hyundai Creta
Competition in the compact SUV segment in Malaysia seems to be starting to heat up with Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) officially opening its order books for the Hyundai Creta.
This B-segment SUV is already on sale in several of our ASEAN neighbours. Designed as a regional model, the Creta wears Hyundai’s Parametric Jewel front end where the LED daytime running lights are integrated into the grille design. At night, the daytime running lights combine with the bumper-mounted LED projector headlamps to create a visual signature.
Inside, we can expect a certain level of technological convenience such as a 10.25″ LCD multi-info cluster, 8″ infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, electric parking brake and 4 drive modes.
For safety, the Hyundai Creta comes standard with 6 airbags and a comprehensive Hyundai SmartSense suite of active safety features, including Forward and Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Following Assist, Leading Vehicle Departure Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Safe Exit Warning and High Beam Assist – all of which contribute to its full 5-star New Car Assessment Programme for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP) safety rating. There is no indication of Adaptive Cruise Control, but that is also a feature missing from the other ASEAN markets.
The Creta is powered by a 1.5L Smartstream Gamma II engine with multi-point injection, paired with a 6-speed Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT) offering 115 PS and 144 Nm of torque
“With so much practicality and space contained within a compact footprint, it’s not difficult to see why SUVs continue to rise in popularity, both globally and in Malaysia. The Hyundai Creta illustrates this perfectly, and we look forward to giving Malaysians more choices in the realm of SUVs upon its introduction, which is just around the corner!” said Sime Darby Motors Managing Director of Retail and Distribution for Malaysia, Mr. Jeffrey Gan.
“The Hyundai Creta targets the young as well as the young-at-heart with its distinctive combination of contemporary design, connected technology and comprehensive active safety features. Optimised for the Asia-Pacific market, this B-segment SUV also offers the practicality, space and convenience to suit active lifestyles,” added HSDM Managing Director, Mr. Low Yuan Lung.
More details on the new Hyundai Creta will be revealed closer to launch.
