SDAC Offers 2 New Ford Ranger Getaways In May

Sime Darby Auto ConneXion (SDAC), the sole distributor of Ford in Malaysia, has prepared 2 customised packages for the Ford Ranger Getaways collection for the month of May. Both getaways also offer a fresh way to celebrate Mother’s Day.

The first planned getaway is A Trip Through Nature at Gunung Jerai on 6 May 2023 while the second is Chase the Sunrise at Cameron Highlands on 27-28 May 2023. Both getaways are customised group trips organised by SDAC to offer a fresh and engaging way of exploring the natural beauty of Malaysia’s expansive Banjaran Titiwangsa (Titiwangsa Mountain Range).

Besides a pleasant retreat and discovering the beauty of Malaysia’s natural landscapes with family or friends, these excursions are also a great opportunity to meet and build bonds with fellow Ranger owners. The Ford Ranger Getaways is a series of handpicked local adventures covering a range of interests. Apart from organised trips which include overnight outings and training courses, there are also getaways that you can choose to go for on your own. Slots for all Ford Ranger Getaways are limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.

On 6 May, just before Mother’s Day, the one-day trip to the mountains of Kedah offer the fun of driving up partially steep slopes on the way to the peak of Gunung Jerai. Along the way, you can experience the thrill of tackling 4×4 challenges with the guidance of a professional driving instructor, making use of such as Hill Descent Control, Hill Launch Assist and Side Slope at Bukit Kuang.

At the peak, more than 1,000 metres above sea level, you will get to enjoy an open-air dining experience with a panoramic view of the coastline and Kedah’s endless paddy fields. For the flora enthusiasts, you should keep an eye out for the blooming hydrangea plants. Nature buffs can also join a 30-minute guided hike across paved stairs towards the Alor Naga Falls.

If Gunung Jerai isn’t your cup of tea then there is also a grand highland tour over 2 days (27 – 28 May) to experience the lesser-known trails and routes up Cameron Highlands, Pahang. Ford Ranger owners who sign up for this adventure will convoy with other Ranger owners and their companions for a scenic drive on some of the best roads in the country. Upon arrival at a charming resort destination, you will be able to enjoy getting to know your fellow travellers over a day of fun activities including a barbeque party and a movie under the stars.

The highlight of this trip is the sunrise chase on Day 2 where you will set out at the break of dawn and convoy 40 km to a “mystery” viewpoint to enjoy the spectacular sunrise overlooking a sea of clouds.

The Gunung Jerai trip is available in 2 packages i.e. Individual & Couple Package is priced at RM456.02 per person while the Family Package costs RM1,716.49 for 4 adults. Meanwhile, pricing for the Cameron Highlands adventure starts from RM1,047.77 per person.

Both getaways can accommodate up to 4 persons per vehicle. All prices are inclusive of insurance for travellers aged 1 to 80 years. Children aged 16 and below can travel for free.
