The winners of the 16th Toyota Dream Car Art Contest have been announced by organiser, UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd. The Toyota Dream Car Art Contest is a global event to help nurture the creativity of the next generation of great inventors, thinkers and dreamers.
The Toyota Dream Car Art Contest was first held in 2004 and is one of the largest global art contests for children. Through this event, Toyota aims to encourage and inspire creativity amongst children, and to share their dreams on how cars can make the world better, through their art. Children all over Malaysia have been participating in this global contest since 2013.
Each year, children from all over the world share their ideas about the future of mobility, with some 530,000 entries received for the 2022 event. In total, the global contest received 8 million artworks from children over 140 different countries to-date.
On the national level, a total of 3 winners were selected from 3 categories i.e. Category 1: 7 years old and under; Category 2: 8 to 11 years old; and Category 3: 12 to 15 years old. The top 3 winners were chosen from thousands of submissions for the national phase of the global event.
“We are delighted to receive more than 2,300 entries this year. All the submissions were extremely invigorating and stimulating, with so many fresh and novel ideas. Selecting the winners was indeed very challenging. I would like to applaud all the participants for expressing themselves so well,” said Datuk Ravindran K, President of UMW Toyota Motor.
