2023 Toyota Vios Now Open For Booking; 2 Variants Priced From RM90k
You can head over to the nearest authorised Toyota showroom this weekend to place your booking for the 2023 Toyota Vios, which should see an official launch soon.
The Toyota Vios is now in its 4th generation. With a new design language, the all-new Vios sports a fastback style body, with a longer nose and a more rear-biased cabin. The body sits lower for a sportier stance. The Vios is now built on the DNGA (Daihatsu New Global Architecture) platform and has a 2,620 mm wheelbase. The physical dimensions measure 4,410 mm long, 1,740 mm wide, and 1,480 mm tall.
Powering this B-segment sedan is the proven 1.5L DOHC Dual VVT-i engine which has been improved to deliver stronger performance. A new 7-speed CVT with Sequential Shiftmatic is paired with it to provide better acceleration as well as enhance fuel efficiency. Power output should be 106 PS and 138 Nm, but we will know at the launch. New features will include paddle shifters and Electronic Parking Brake.
The interior is also a more premium experience with better and more soft touch materials throughout the cabin. There will also be rear air vents, a panoramic view monitor, and 9″ infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. However, some of these will probably be reserved for the range-topping variant i.e. Vios 1.5G. “The all-new Toyota Vios is all set to take centrestage as the car is definitely of top-notch quality at a competitive price that will certainly exceed customer expectations,” said Datuk Ravindran K., President of UMW Toyota Motor.
Keeping in line with Toyota’s trend of offering better and safer cars, the new Vios will come with Toyota Safety Sense (TSS). The TSS suite offers better safety features for both driver and passengers and includes Pre-Collision System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning and Prevention, Lane Keeping Control, Front Vehicle Departure Alert, and Auto High Beam, as well as a blind spot monitor. The all-new Toyota Vios comes in 2 variants i.e. 1.5E (RM90,000) and 1.5G (RM96,000). There will be no manual transmission option available. There are also 5 colour options i.e. Silver Metallic, Nebula Blue Metallic, Attitude Black, Platinum White Pearl, and the new Spicy Scarlet.
The Vios has been assembled locally at UMW Toyota Motor’s manufacturing facility, Assembly Services Sdn Bhd (ASSB) in Shah Alam since the model was first introduced in 2003. The Vios will come with a 5-year warranty and unlimited mileage.
