2023 Isuzu D-Max Features Updates Across The Range

The Isuzu D-Max pickup truck range has been refreshed for 2023, with updates to the exterior and interior. The D-Max model line-up remains unchanged with 5 variants to cater to different budgets and preferences i.e. the flagship D-Max X-Terrain, D-Max Premium, D-Max Auto Plus, D-Max Standard, and D-Max Single Cab.

Only the Standard and the Single Cab have automatic and manual transmission options, with the rest in auto only. The most obvious update is the introduction of new exterior colours. The X-Terrain and Premium variants get the new Islay Gray Mica and a new shade of white i.e. Dolomite White Pearl (to replace the previous Silky Pearl White). The Premium, Auto Plus, and Standard (automatic only) variants also get a new blue i.e. Biarritz Blue Metallic as a replacement for the previous Sapphire Blue.

Other exterior updates include a new interpretation of the double-fanged grille, new allow rims, and refreshed body accents for a sportier appearance. The new wheels for the D-Max X-Terrain and Premium are 18″ while the Auto Plus and Standard get 17″. As the flagship, the X-Terrain is dressed with Dark Gray roof rails, door mirrors, door and tailgate handles, front bumper, side steps, and over fenders, as well as Silver lower bumper garnish. Further, the X-Terrain, and the Premium, get covers for its rear combination lamps.

Inside the truck, the most apparent update is the new Black upholstery i.e. leather for X-Terrain and Premium; fabric for Auto Plus and Standard. Further, a 15W wireless fast charger is available in the X-Terrain, Premium and Auto Plus, with the addition of a USB-C port for the X-Terrain and Premium variants (for charging only). As before, rear passengers also have access to rear cooling vents as well as a USB port.

Exclusive to the X-Terrain are Blue interior ambient lighting, Cafe Brown interior trim, and an integrated front (1440P QHD) and rear (1080P HD) Digital Video Recorder with a 64 GB memory card. Recorded footage can also be downloaded to your phone via the PingDrive app. The upper dashboard, door panels, console lid, steering wheel, shift knob and boot, and the parking brake boot get a Brown stitch to complement the Black.

Furthermore, the Premium variant gets a revised suspension set-up to handle heavier payload of 775 kg (up from 580 kg). The Single Cab is also updated with a new keyless entry access and a 12V socket.

The flagship X-Terrain is only available with the 3.0L, while the Premium, and the Single Cab, come with both engine choices. Meanwhile, the Auto Plus and Standard variants are exclusively 1.9L. The 3.0L Blue Power turbo diesel engine delivers 190 PS @ 3,600 rpm and 450 Nm of torque @ 1,600 – 2,600 rpm to the 4×4 system via a 6-speed automatic (with sequential shift). On the other hand, the 1.9L Blue Power turbo diesel gives 150 PS @ 3,600 rpm and 350 Nm @ 1,800 – 2,600 rpm. Manual transmission variants also have 6 gears (with Gear Shift Indicator) and a Reverse Gear Lockout that prevents shifting into reverse when the truck is moving forward. Additionally, a new Rear Differential Lock is now standard feature for all 4×4 variants.
