BMW iX xDrive50 Sport Gets Updated

BMW Malaysia has announced updates to the BMW iX xDrive50 Sport to raise the benchmark in Sheer Electric Driving Pleasure.

The BMW iX xDrive50 Sport is fitted with 22″ BMW Individual aerodynamic wheels 1021 multi-colour with a 3D polished buff as well as 17″ brake calipers in Blue. Coming standard also is the BMW Iconic Sounds Electric that creates a premium immersive atmosphere. Further, the expanded exterior mirror package is retained for this all-electric SAV.

The luxurious design language extends into the cabin with the elegant Interior Design Atelier, complemented by the central console and central armrest in Sensatec. Additionally, the BMW Live Cockpit Professional makes use of a curved 12.3″ instrument display and a 14.9″ central display for a modern touch. Comfort and convenience come in the form of multifunctional seats for the driver, storage with wireless charging pad and 4-zone climate control. Onboard entertainment is provided via the Harman Kardon surround sound system.

This all-electric SAV boasts an output of 385 kW (523 hp) and 765 Nm of torque. Its top speed is however capped at 200 km/h but it has a claimed 0 – 100 km/h time of 4.6 seconds. The battery pack is a 111.5 kWh unit which is good for a driving range of up to 630 km per charge (WLTP).

BMW iX_ChargingThe iX xDrive50 Sport includes the Flexible Charger Cable Mode 2 and Fast Charging Cable Mode 3, and can be charged from 0% to 80% in 35 minutes via DC fast charger, or 0% to 100% in 10 hours and 45 minutes via an 11 kW AC Wallbox charger. As an owner of the iX xDrive50 Sport, you will have access to over 610 charging facilities nationwide powered by major local EV charging providers which have partnered with BMW Group Malaysia.

Furthermore, this iX includes the Intelligent Emergency Call, Teleservices, ConnectedDrive Services, Connected Package Professional, BMW Natural Interaction and Active Protection via the high-resolution BMW Live Cockpit Professional. For further driving assistance, the iX xDrive50 Sport features the Driving Assistant Professional, Parking Assistant and a new cruise control with braking function.

The BMW iX xDrive50 Sport is available in Mineral White, Alpine White Metallic, Black Sapphire Metallic, Sophisto Grey Metallic with Brilliant Effect, Phytonic Blue Metallic, and Blue Ridge Mountain Metallic. There are 2 new colours also available for an additional RM6,200 i.e. Individual Storm Bay Metallic and Aventurine Red Metallic.

For the interior, you can have the Interior Design Atelier in Mocha or Black, or opt for the Interior Design Suite in Amido or Castanea for an additional RM17,300.

Smartphone Integration and Connected Package Professional For All Models in 2023

BMW Group Malaysia will be offering Smartphone Integration1 (featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) along with the Connected Package Professional as standard for all BMW models in 2023. This will enable convenient access to familiar functions and applications in all BMW models from 2023 onwards.

The seamless and wireless integration of both Apple CarPlay as well as Android Auto, paired with smooth interplay of the BMW Operating System 7/8 will provide owners a convenient connectivity experience within their vehicle. The climate menu will also remain accessible to users without having to leave the Apple CarPlay or Android Auto screen. Moreover, Remote Services1 will enable owners to remotely control the car by locking their doors, activating the headlight flash or horn and starting the ventilation system through the My BMW App. Owners will also enjoy a Last State Call (LSC) which provides relevant information about the status of the car, such as the fuel level, mileage, status of doors and windows, Check Control Messages, pending services and more.

In the year ahead, owners will also enjoy 3 years runtime of BMW Maps Connected Charging2 and Connected Navigation2. Connected Charging guarantees to stay mobile with the BMW EV – whether at home, on the road or at public charging stations. In addition to providing information to owners via the My BMW App, the Charging Management feature also showcases past and ongoing charging sessions which enables owners to remotely control and check ongoing or upcoming charging sessions. The app will also notify users should there be any specific charging events.

The cloud-based navigation system in BMW Maps will come with a more intuitive address input and a rich experience in the Point of Interest segment. Owners will also be able to send their destinations from the My BMW App to their vehicles seamlessly using the Send-to-Car feature. The Last Mile feature will assist in navigating towards their destination in the event that parking is not available nearby and they have to go on foot.
