MAN Malaysia Introduces More Spacious MAN TM Cab

MAN Malaysia (MAN Truck & Bus (M) Sdn Bhd) has introduced a more spacious TM Cab as an option for its truck range. MAN is the first commercial vehicles manufacturer in Malaysia to offer Euro 5 engines as standard for its truck range.

Measuring 2,035 mm in height, the new TM Cab is taller than the standard 1,737 mm height of the TN Cab currently available to customers in Malaysia. The width and length however, remains unchanged at 2,240 mm and 2,280 mm respectively, to maintain its road-going dimensions but with a larger cabin space.

The cab’s compact exterior design allows it better manoeuvrability on Malaysian roads while its weight-saving design means more allowance for a higher payload.

The TM Cab is a 2-seater cabin with sleeping space for 1. The sleeping area is 700 mm wide (800 mm at its widest point), and 1,900 mm long, ensuring that long-haul drivers have a more comfortable space to get proper rest. Furthermore, the extra 280 mm headroom offered by the TM Cab means there is more space for standing upright which improves the interior ambience as well as ease of movement.

According to MAN Malaysia Managing Director, Andrew O’Brooks, the MAN TM Cab is another of its market-driven offering as it continues to drive change towards a sustainable future. “Truckers have a very challenging job. They work with big machines, have to comply with various regulations and limitations, are often under time pressure, and are exposed to a lot of stress in road traffic on a daily basis,” he said.

MAN is also aware of the need to provide the right solutions to help transporters recruit and retain drivers as the logistics sector continues to face an acute shortage of drivers. “The Excellent Driver Fit philosophy that guided the development of our New MAN Truck Generation extends to beyond creating a comfortable and ergonomic cabin. A whole list of state-of-the art driver assistance and safety systems keeps truckers safe every time they are on the road in a MAN Truck”.

Features include Lane Guard System (LGS), Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), Tyre Pressure Monitoring (TPM), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), Assisted High-Beam Headlight and Automatic Wiper System, Side Camera System (SCS) and 360° View Assistance (Bird View), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Continuous Damping Control (CDC) and MAN BrakeMatic.

O’Brooks further said that while MAN continues to actively transition to sustainable and climate-neutral mobility with high technology products, the company is also committed to innovating and improving its conventional products to meet the ‘real world’ needs of the transport industry.

“It has been almost a year since we took the lead in the sustainability journey with the bold introduction of our New MAN Truck Generation with Euro 5 engines as standard here in Malaysia when no other manufacturer dared to,” he said. “On the global stage, MAN is also charging ahead with our all-electric large series MAN e-Truck set to debut just 2 years from now,” he added.
