The Aston Martin DBX707 Launched In Malaysia
The Aston Martin DBX707 is now available for purchased in Malaysia. Recently launched by Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur, the DBX707 is based on the DBX, the brand’s first-ever SUV, and offers a unique combination of performance, dynamics, and luxury.
The DBX707 name comes from the output of its 4.0L V8 twin turbo engine which now produces a class-leading 707 PS and 900 Nm, with the help of ball bearing turbochargers and a bespoke engine calibration. This is a significant improvement of 157 PS and 200 Nm over the DBX (543 PS and 700 Nm), and is the greatest output on record for a production SUV. This power is channeled through a 9-speed automatic transmission with a wet clutch linked to an electronic limited slip differential, the first in a DBX.
These notable engineering improvements make the DBX707 capable of a 0-100 km/h sprint in 3.3 seconds, more than a second faster than the regular DBX. Maximum speed is clocked at 310 km/h, making the DBX707 the fastest and most powerful luxury SUV in the world.
To manage this amount of performance, carbon ceramic brakes (CCB) are standard issue. Measuring 420 mm in front and 390 mm in the rear, the CCB rotors are gripped by 6-piston calipers and contribute to an overall reduction of 40.5 kg in unsprung weight.
To underline the driver-focused credentials of the DBX707, the GT Sport and Sport+ driving modes now feature “Race Start” to give you the full experience of its powerful acceleration. Although torque can be distributed 100% to the rear axle on demand, revised active logic in the all-wheel drive transfer case enhances control between the driveline and ESP system for a more natural, sports car-like driving experience.
“The huge gains we have found in both power and torque demonstrates not only the inherent prowess of the 4.0-litre biturbo V8, but Aston Martin’s appetite and ability for finding uncompromising engineering solutions. The combination of this magnificent engine with a new 9-speed ‘wet-clutch’ transmission sits at the heart of DBX707’s formidable capabilities and unforgettable character,” explained Ralph Illenberger, Aston Martin’s Head of Powertrain Engineering.
While staying true to its performance-oriented Aston Martin DNA, the DBX707 is also excels as a luxury SUV. The air suspension system of the DBX V8, already regarded as the best-handling SUV in the market, features new damper valving with recalibrated dynamic spring volume matching for improved body control and electronic power steering response. The latter has been optimised to offer better feedback for the driver to judge cornering loads and available grip with greater accuracy.
“The Aston Martin DBX707 launches us to the pinnacle of one of the most hotly-contested segments in the luxury car market, both locally and abroad. Having the most powerful SUV in the world amongst our stable of celebrated sports cars and supercars is the natural step forward for Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur given our brand history that is steeped in racing heritage and engineering of the highest order,” said Mr. Kumara Sooriar Sivanasan, General Manager of Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur.
To distinguish the DBX707 from the DBX, Aston Martin designers have reinvented the front end with a larger grille defined by 6 double-vaned horizontal bars as well as newly-designed daytime-running lights (DRL). Combined with the new air intakes, brake cooling ducts and new front splitter profile, the modifications help improve cooling airflow to maintain optimum performance while creating a unique, visual identity for the range-topping Aston Martin SUV.
Similarly, the rear of the DBX707 personifies its performance gain with a new lip spoiler added to the roof wing to reduce lift and increase high-speed stability, while the twin rear diffuser now rises to meet the new, large-diameter quad-exhaust system. Finished in satin black to complement the gloss black treatment of the diffuser, this new exhaust has been tuned to deliver a unique sound signature that creates greater emotional engagement on the move.
Inside, the DBX707 comes with the standard Sport seats and sleek, dark chrome switchgear which complement the satin black appointments of the exterior. There are 3 choices of interior environments available i.e. Accelerate, Inspire – Comfort, and Inspire – Sport. All seat options come with 16-way electric adjustment plus heating as standard along with Piano Black veneer. There is also the option to pick carbon fibre and bronze metal mesh finishes.
In addition to the wide range of options, Q by Aston Martin offers bespoke personalisation services limited only by the imagination. This allows you to push your creative boundaries and create a unique expression of your personality.
The Aston Martin DBX707 starts from RM1,098,000 and that excludes duties, taxes, options and customisation.
