Foton Aumark S City Flyer Light Duty Truck Launched In Malaysia

After introducing the 6-wheeler Foton Aumark S trucks to Malaysia in 2020, Angka-Tan Motor Sdn Bhd has launched smaller and budget-friendlier 4-wheeled versions of the Aumark S i.e. the City Flyer 4-Wheeler BJ1065.

Angka-Tan, the sole distributor of Foton Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) and Foton Auman in Malaysia, has brought in the Aumark S City Flyer light duty truck to meet the demands of logistics usage, particularly in city scenarios. The light and flexible body of the City Flyer allows fleet owners to achieve high productivity and efficiency in their business operations.

The Foton Aumark S City Flyer 4-Wheeler BJ1065 series will come in 2 versions i.e. VDJD4 and VDJD6, differing only on wheelbase dimensions of 2,800 mm and 3,360 mm respectively. The City Flyer has a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 5.6 tonnes, a top feature in the 4-wheeler category, making suitable for inter-city and intra-city trips, and allowing customers to carry higher payload per trip.

Both City Flyer versions are powered by the latest generation Cummins ISF 2.8L Euro-3 turbocharged engine with an output of 129 hp (96 kW) @ 3,200 rpm and 310 Nm of torque @ 1,600 – 2,700 rpm. The engine is paired with a smooth-shifting 5-speed ZF manual transmission with high transmission efficiency. The lightweight aluminum alloy casing and optimised gear ratio means it helps reduce fuel consumption, while the optimised turbinate gear design reduces noise.

A product of the Super Truck Global Innovation Alliance, the Aumark S City Flyer is also built on Foton’s SUPER philosophy platform i.e. Safety, Utility, Power, Efficiency and Reliability. This alliance sees leading technology players around the world like Cummins, ZF Friedrichshafen, WABCO, Bosch and Exedy join forces to combine their expertise and top-notch technology in the design of this truck.

Further, its cabin has been redesigned and improved to give the driver and co-driver more comfort and less fatigue during prolonged driving. The seats have been enhanced with an extended life foam and wear-resistant fabric. It also comes with a platform cup holder and overhead file cabinet.

In terms of safety, the Aumark S City Flyer is built with an updated chassis design that meets the European safety standards and is tested in full compliance with Economic Commission for Europe (ECE)’s R29 stringent safety regulations. It has Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) which prevents wheel lock-up during heavy braking, and also Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist to help with stronger and safer braking performance in case of an emergency.

The Foton Aumark S City Flyer 4 Wheeler BJ1065VDJD4 (2,800mm) has a retail price of RM93,900, while the BJ1065VDJD6 (3,360mm) is RM95,900 in Peninsular Malaysia. For East Malaysia, the BJ1065VDJD4 (2,800mm) is RM100,900, and the BJ1065VDJD6 (3,360mm) is RM102,900.

Every City Flyer is covered by a 5-year or 200,000 km warranty (whichever comes first).
