New Nissan Serena S-Hybrid Open For Booking

The new Nissan Serena S-Hybrid will soon see an official launch in early July. And in the meantime, all authorised Nissan showrooms nationwide will be accepting bookings for the Serena. According to Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM), the official importer and distributor of Nissan vehicles, delivery to buyers are also expected to take place in July.

The new Nissan Serena will be locally assembled. It was among the first hybrid models to be assembled in Malaysia, and still is the only hybrid MPV to be so.

There will be 2 variants available with the following estimated retail prices (without insurance in Peninsular Malaysia):

  • Serena S-Hybrid Highway Star : below RM150,000
  • Serena S-Hybrid Premium Highway Star : below RM165,000

Depending on the variant, there will be up to 4 colour choices which will be revealed later on.

Nissan_Showroom_Service CentreETCM is encouraging buyers to make their booking early (with a minimum amount of just RM1,000) in order to secure a vehicle in the system. Doing so will also help the assembly plant to schedule production more effectively and minimise waiting time as disruptions continue due to microprocessor shortages and global shipment delays.

For the “Early Bird” bookings, ETCM is offering more savings when they become owners. ETCM will offer free Maintenance Services (inclusive of Parts & Labour) at alternate intervals (i.e. 10,000 km, 30,000 km, 50,000 km, 70,000 km and 90,000 km), and up to 5 years’ warranty period, with unlimited mileage. Terms and conditions apply.

This Nissan Serena S-Hybrid facelift will be updated in terms of styling and safety technologies. The Serena will continue with user conveniences such as the Dual Back Door, Hands-Free Dual Power Sliding Doors on both sides, and up to 7 USB ports.

The spacious interior is versatile space with 13 Seating Configuration, and seats 7. Further, the Captain Seats in the 2nd row fitted with individual armrests and extra-long slide adjustment. Front and 2nd row passengers can also enjoy fatigue-free comfort in the Zero Gravity Seats. The seats are upholstered in combination Nappa leather for a more premium feel.

Safety is provided by Nissan Intelligent Mobility (NIM) which consists of a suite of advanced technologies with both Active Safety and Passive Safety systems. 5 smart intelligent technologies have been added to the new Serena S-Hybrid to enhance Active Safety. The suite now includes Intelligent Predictive Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Forward Collision Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Nissan’s renowned Around View Monitor (360 camera) is standard equipment too.

The new Serena S-Hybrid continues to be powered by a 2.0L Twin CVTC hybrid drivetrain. Its ECO (Energy Control Motor) electric motor provides torque assistance on take-off, thus reducing demand on the petrol engine and helping to improve fuel efficiency. This provides the Serena with the benefit of a hybrid powertrain without the associated high costs.
