BMW Malaysia Opens Pre-Booking For New BMW iX xDrive40 and iX xDrive40 Sport Electric Vehicles

BMW Malaysia has released some details of the BMW range of i electric vehicles as it opens up pre-booking and registration of interest to the public for the new BMW iX xDrive40 and BMW iX xDrive40 Sport. The introduction of these fully electric vehicles is part of the premium automaker’s Sustainable Mobility Strategy it wants to commit to in the country.

Our success in Malaysia today is cemented by our position as the leader in electrified mobility here, which is underlined by an impressive delivery of over 2,200 units of electrified vehicles last year alone.”

De Visser added that the incoming fleet of electric vehicles from BMW i will present all the best possibilities of Sheer Electric Driving Pleasure to loyal BMW customers and EV enthusiasts in Malaysia, with no compromise.

BMW iX

The BMW iX represents modern electromobility from BMW. It features the first of its kind Shy Tech concept which allows modern technology and innovation in the vehicle to discreetly blend in the background until needed or explicitly desired. It also features the very first BMW IconicSounds Electric which is a collaborative development with Academy Award winning composer, Hans Zimmer.

Some key differences between the 2 variants offered are:

• LED headlights for the iX xDrive40; BMW Laserlights for the iX xDrive40 Sport and the iX xDrive50 Sport (the latter variant will come later).
• Driving Assistant and Parking Assistant features are standard for the iX xDrive40; Driving Assistant Professional and Parking Assistant Plus for the Sport variants.
• Harman Kardon surround sound system and a control panel made of sustainably produced, certified wood.
• Exclusive to the iX xDrive50 Sport are the Integral Active Steering and the adaptive 2-axle air suspension.

With a driving range of up to 630 km (WLTP), the iX variants promise to dispel the oft-mentioned range anxiety when it comes to electric mobility.

BMW iX3

The BMW iX3 all-electric Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) combines the best of two worlds i.e. driving dynamics and premium quality of the world’s best-selling premium midsized SAV – the X3, with the improved performance and efficiency of the 5th generation BMW eDrive technology. This could make its way to our shores in a little while.

BMW i4

The i4 is BMW’s idea of a sustainable sports 4-door gran coupé. Built with the specific focus on electric driving dynamics from the start, the BMW i4 is the latest addition to the premium mid-sized sedan segment. This sports sedan offers the electrical power output of up to 340 hp, a 0 – 100 km/h sprint time of 5.7 seconds, and an impressive WLTP electric driving range of up to 590 km on a single charge.

Pre-booking And Registration Of Interest

The BMW iX xDrive40 and BMW iX xDrive40 Sport are now available for pre-booking in the BMW Shop Online platform (https://shop.bmw.com.my/). You can book one now by placing a booking fee of RM5,000.

The retail prices are:

• BMW iX xDrive40* : RM419,630 & RM435,800***
• BMW iX xDrive40* with Power Package** : RM424,230 & RM440,400***

• BMW iX xDrive40 Sport : RM472,630 & RM488,800***
• BMW iX xDrive40 Sport with Power Package** : RM477,230 & RM493,400***

* Sport Package can be added to the BMW iX xDrive40 for RM53,000.
** The Power Package consists of BMW i Wallbox and BMW i Public Charging Cable.
*** Owners of BMW iX will also be entitled to the BMW 5-Year Extended Warranty and 6-Year Service package at a special rate of RM16,170.

According to BMW Group Malaysia, owners of EV from the BMW i portfolio can also enjoy battery warranty of up to 8 years or 160,000 km, whichever comes first. Additionally, the first 50 customers to pre-book the BMW iX xDrive40 or BMW iX xDrive40 Sport will receive Complimentary Charging Installation and Complimentary 1-year Public Charging Access. This exclusive pre-booking offer will be available until 22 September 2021 (terms and conditions apply).

As the arrival of the next-generation BMW i fleet welcomes a new era of electromobility in Malaysia, BMW Group Malaysia also has their eyes set on rapidly expanding the BMW i dealer network to key cities across the country. DC Fast Chargers will also be installed at all BMW i dealers for public use to further accelerate the availability of charging infrastructures in Malaysia, along with Rapid Charging DC Chargers to be made available for quick on-the-go charging at selected dealerships nationwide.

Dynamic Financing Programme

With the Balloon Financing Plan from BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia, the BMW iX xDrive40 and the BMW iX xDrive40 Sport can be owned with a monthly instalment plan starting from RM4,888 and RM5,478 respectively (based on estimates of an 80% loan on a 5-year tenure).
